episode 1: awesome
episode 2: narutoshit.
episode 3: back to awesome
havn't caught 4 yet. your thoughts?
Episode 3's late night version got on my nerves. What's the point of it being there when you can't show panties? Even Code Geass is showing panties, and some even barely cover the ass.
In the coming episodes I want more Maka (Even if the VA's acting needs a lot of work), more Death the Kid (Light's voice actor playing an OCD son of a shinigami never fails to amuse me) and less Black Star. I'll probably watch it to the end even with its faults.
I don't hate Black Star like everyone else.
I think he's kinda funny, but I can see it getting annoying really quick.
P.S. I don't even watch Naruto.
What are you guys talking about? The shear fact that the animation is so clear and beautiful due to the HD is great! Who cares if we have another Naruto like character in the show at least he doesnt scream out believe it or end his phrases with datebayo! The show is still amusing to watch and I will watch it till the end.
Oh God, is it like B'itch'leach? I fucking Hate Bleach&Naruto. I'll try the first episode.
The most recent episode was really good.
Sounds interesting, But It isnt
Has shonen been interesting? They reel you in then it goes to shit
I personally enjoy this kind of show, a no brainer adventure with full of reused animation scene. If you want something more thoughtful go watch Aria >:3
Aria sounded like a good idea but all the sequels make it daunting
saw 5. was good. so now it's:
episode 1: awesome
episode 2: narutoshit.
episode 3: back to awesome
episode 4: WOULD SOMEONE JUST KILL THE NARUTARD?
episode 5: awesome yet again
Hey, anyone her like going to conventions? Maybe doing a cosplay?
I think you're confused. This is not 4-chan. We are 4-ch. We are hikikomoris who don't leave their rooms to shower, let alone for some shitty convention. The only 'cosplay' we do is to dress up in our used school girl pantsu and fuku uniforms to masturbate and cry ourselves to sleep.
Futhermore, your names are a failed attempt at being 'kawaii' and and 'cool' and are mediocre, at best. This thread and you people are everything that's wrong with 4-ch right now and I suggest you leave immediately. There are thousands of other websites that cater to your tastes' and character, go fag them up.
I think that cosplaying makes a mockery of the character you are trying to emulate,
but thats just me.
Yeah, well, minus the crying myself to sleep part. But maybe it's because I'm still young and haven't realized how pathetic I am yet. Or that I don't care. Either way I quite enjoy masturbating in a school girl's uniform.
>>4
It's not just you. I feel similarly, it sullies the character, especially when portrayed by a fat loser like 90% of the ones around our area.
I think cosplaying is fine. It gives people something that connects them.
>>3 not all of us here are hikikomoris. And if someone here wants to use a name for themselves let them. You are nothing but a sad little flamer with nothing better to do that complain.
You're a poser. Go away, we don't NEED your kind here.
I like cosplayers at conventions and stuff. Never tried it myself though.
Well, I'm not a hiki. I did start to have some hiki tendencies after my father died, but my friends were there for me and really helped in getting me out of the house, etc.
I go to my local convention every year. It's like the nerd prom. I've never cosplayed before, but I love photographing cosplayers (and they love to be photographed).
Recently though I thought of some ideas for potential cosplay that could be done on the cheap yet look extremely authentic. I could get most of what I need from a mil surp store. The important part in making the costume would be to make sure everything is suitably thrashed.
It's no use trying to deny I'm nerdy anymore, and it seems like it would be fun, so maybe next year I'll put these ideas into action and actually cosplay.
There's also a lot of good canon detail imagery of the character in question, so potentially, if I went all out, which would entail building a mockup of a Type 68 rifle, I could be series-accurate down to a serial number on the weapon. (Aren't full page close-ups in manga wonderful?)
I cosplay when I can.
Unfortunately, most of my costumes come from ebay, because i have neither the skills or the material to make them. Plus it seems sacriligious to imitate a character in a substandard costume.
In this thread, we discuss awesome shows which are not popular! Don't bother posting about your Fullmetal Alchemists or Bleaches or Cowboy Bebops in here! Feel free to be as elitists as you want!
And let's not turn this into a "list thread", because those are useless and suck. ITT, we talk!
I liked Legend of the Galactic Heroes...I haven't really met more than one person who likes or knows about it so I'm pretty sure it qualifies for this thread.
Shin Hakkenden. It aired in about 1999-2000 on AXN in SEAsia but nobody realy talks about it. It's typical anime fare once you think about it - adaptation of the Hakkenden fable with magical balls and a group of people, but I remember it well because I used to enjoy it with my one other anime-loving friend when we were still in primary school. And it had a generally sad ending which I liked. Yay.
Also it was the first time I ever heard an angela song (the OP, Memories) but I didn't realise it until about 2005... The ED is awfully nostalgic though.

I dunno, it's entertaining enough, but it is still a Dengeki G's moe production.
Tortov Roddle is pretty awesome, though.
However, we'd really be better off if you actually shared some opinions, >>51.
Snake bucket (forgot the japanese name)
In the late 60's early 70's about a boy in south america who collects snakes and how he accidently encounters a gorilla fighter and by time we seen him grow up and join them.Tragic show, but brilliant!
tokko!
Wasn't Tokko kind of terrible?
All of Studio 4C. Some of Noitamina like Mononoke and Hakaba Kitarou.
I've seen a few shoujo ones that not many people I know have seen.
Mainly really old magical girl ones though. In my defence, it was a few months after I started watching anime, and I automatically went for the girly ones..At least I didn't watch Sailor moon.
Hime chan no ribbon? Anyone heard of it?
hi guys!!! i've just been kick from the discussion board cause they say i was at the wrong place...but i just did it for the lulz!!!.....
I bought and downloaded 4 animus wich are right now unseen by me....wich sould i see first? these are the options....ergo proxy, death note, code geass and speed grapher. a profesional opinion would be apreciated about this shows. thanks!!
frackin ergo proxy
Ergo Proxy had that slow start but once it gets going you are more than glad you bothered to watch in the first place. Other than the smile land episode and that quiz show it is worth all the time you have watching it. Someone should license or translate its manga at some point even when that only means you have other travels rather than the answers you were expecting from the incomplete ending the series had that and it does not have more Pino which is sad seeing her with manga art will be my own dream come true. Not that others liked this as much but Dead Calm is my favorite part in the series
Speed Grapher. Not sure why...
1 Ergo Proxy, you will get over it very quickly
2 Death Note, pay attention to the plot than the dialog
3 Code geass, lulz for Death Note references
4 Speed Grapher, Save the best for last
Enjoy your watching!
op
so ergo proxy and speed grapher as primal option, then death note and finally code geas. gracias!!

This show is disgusting. Everyone knows we Americans will have taken over the world by 2017.
And, if the evil empire is going to be British, shouldn't rhe rebels be Indians, or Africans, or Falklanders, or something?
Do Japs have a long history with Brit? I did not learn
Spoilers: Brittania is America but headed by the monarchy run out of Britain by Europe.
There is no race in anime. Only nationality.
Little brown girls are the best.
Spoilers: Thats dumb as hell (not that that seems to matter in most anime.)
indians are not that hot IRL. theyre mostly hairy.
Isn't code geass set in JAPAN? Area 11?
So there won't be indians, africans etc.
Just Japanese.
I'm running out of shounen-ai to watch...stuff I've already seen and liked: Sukisho/Sukisyo, Gravitation, Loveless, Gakuen Heaven...also, if there are any good anime with crossdressing men in, I wanna know :p Ta in advance!
>>28 I don't think that's ironic. It's quite appropriate if you ask me.
I always loved FAKE and Okane ga Nai.
There's also the Pico series, if you're into shouta. I also rather liked Haru wo Daiteita and Papa to Kiss in the Dark. Ai no Kusabi is also a classic.
>>30
Oh dear. Did they just look at the first few chapters, with Hikaru and Kaoru?
It'd be interesting if Kyoya or Mori turned out to be gay, though. Talk about destroying stereotypes.
>>32
I think it is. If the person was seriously insulting Yaoi by calling it gay, then it is an ironic insult.. Oh well. Nvm.
>>33
Yeah, Okane ga nai is good.
Though it could be argued that it is more Yaoi than Shounen ai, in terms of graphic-ness/serious/mature content...
I also just realised you'd already watched Gakuen heaven. So it was stupid to suggest it.
Loveless is the only one of its kind that stays interesting enough
>>35
What makes something yaoi isn't technically the graphicness of the thing but rather, how it completely lacks any plot or purpose whatsoever.
This anon speaks the truth knowing what Yaoi was supposed to stand
How can you offer Okane ga nai? it's practically porn and has no plot
How can you offer Okane ga nai? it's practically porn and has no plot
For example, assuming >>0's favorite was Looney Tunes: That's not an anime, dumbshit. However, it is crippled by lack of a central plot, nonexistant character development, and inability to focus on a single set of characters.
My fave: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
No protracted arguments in this thread please, just keep it going.
yiff in hell furfag
moetan
Censored by its own producers. (among others)
Baccano!
Baccano no baka! Was there an ending to this bloody confusing mess? Or even a plot?
Kekkaishi
shitty shonen with variable sub times and even more variable production quality
busou renkin
Even more shitty shonen now with the one hit wonder Kenshin author
Kino no Tabi
That second movie showed that the current crop of writers cannot grasp the original concept. At the end Kino was in an impossible situation, with the motorbike elsewhere repeatedly trying stupidly to talk to a machine, then the next second we see them running away free, the end!? What a letdown.
Reideen
no one's heard of it.
shuffle.
Too much drama IMO...(best excuse i can come up with since it wasn't so bad)
Samurai X- Trust and betrayal
Dubbed.
Moyashimon
Characters interaction was kinda weird. Wasn't there anyone normal? Also, that obsession with sake was overdone, and likely to be completely illegal... I was hoping for more on-campus stories and interaction with girls, but that part was mostly overlooked. We only got the oh-so-shocking parts of campus life.
Hell Teacher Nube
This thread is for discussion of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, easily the best show of the season, if not the year!

second season canceled? cries in the emo corner
I learned the dance too >_<
Yamamoto .. Yamamoto .. YamaYamaYamamotomotomoto.
But seriously, I liked the chocolate cornet scene. That and the adjoined discussion on how to properly eat other kinds of food was probably the highlight of Lucky Star, unless you count Minorun-run.
>>265
Really? Awesome.
I heard from a number of people that it was cancelled, so false information, I guess.
And I also liked the chocolate cornet scene. It was so pointless a conversation I found it funny.
Seriously you people all say it's pointless, but within a week of that episode, I found myself buying a chocolate cornet, and the advice helped me decide which end to eat it from. I am deeply grateful to Lucky Star for this.
I just thought that scene was just too drawn out, it just felt like they attempted to make it like the "Royale" conversation in Pulp Fiction but didn't pull off, but that's me. But enough of Lucky Star.
I had doubts they were going to cancel Haruhi season 2, after how popular it was and still is it would be stupid to not do another season.
> Yamamoto was fired because the first 4 episodes of Lucky Star were boring.
A horrible and amateurish misinformation with absolutely no clue. Fall 08 is also highly unlikely, considering that Kyoani is going to do Clannad 2nd season this fall.
Anyway, it seems the production of the NEW (not 2nd) season has finally started.
http://www.haruhi.tv/fanclub/index.html
The announcement tells the "Surrogate Brigade Leader" is Ishihara Tatsuya (the director of Kannon, Lucky Star, Clannad),
and the "Assistant Brigade Leader" is Takemoto Yasuhiro (of Full Metal Panic series).
This is a kind of dream staff, which is the tag-team of two major Kyoani directors. Kyoani might know that they need to go all out to fill the gap of Yamakan.
And the picture of emotional Nagato may be a reference to The disappearance of HS.
>>A horrible and amateurish misinformation with absolutely no clue.
So tell him why he's wrong, don't just act like a douchebag and then don't back yourself up. You're the reason this website sucks.
you all have lost your minds. I've watched it and it was sooo booring that i stoped after epesode 3. Man it really sucks, i think u should all get your heads exanined
I'm actually not really interested in who your favorite character is, but rather on the reasons that make you like him/her/it so much. So please don't just leave a name, but list the main reasons that motivate your choice (nice looks, cool powers, interesting personnality, lifestory, etc).
If you are hard pressed to chose an all time favorite, you can also cite some of your favorites.
So, to kick off this thread, here's my favorite character:
Reki, from Haibane Renmei: I like her looks, the multiple layers of her personality, and how these layers show up in details of her everyday behavior, making her more "real" (for instance, the fact that she's a smoking teenager). I also related well to her inner struggles, and enjoyed the way her conflict was brought to a closure.
Okay, I just made it sound like I was rephrasing what >>66 said.
But mine, >>68 , was meant to be along the lines of the relationship in general. Like, she wouldn't talk about stupid things, do stupid stuff, or just be stupid at all. It would be a long-term and integral part of the relationship that she not be annoying.
along the lines of sadness
along the grips of defeat
my tummy turns in anguish
i walk on sordid feet
sordid feet
anguish tummy
honestly i cant choose just one and there are a ton of characters i love ^_^ but in general i like the girls that dont fit in just cause they are a lot like me XD
mikuru because i fap to her about 5 times a day she is my gf man why would I not like her got to respect the boobs FAP FAP FAP
Pino is the only character that made me want to be named after her
+1 Lain. Rakka, Niea, Suzumiya Haruhi, Asuka, Kino. Any charismatic girl - and I will like her.
Lain? Kino? Charismatic?
Yes. You think - they are not?
> cha·ris·ma (kə-rĭz'mə) pronunciation
> n., pl. -ma·ta (-mə-tə).
>
> 1. A rare personal quality attributed to leaders who arouse fervent popular devotion and enthusiasm.
> 2. Personal magnetism or charm: a television news program famed for the charisma of its anchors.
So, no. Out of those characters, the only that comes anywhere close to being charismatic is Haruhi, and even she is mostly off-putting, except in rare moments.
Kamina in Gurren-Lagann is charismatic. I think you're looking for another word. Although I suspect what you really mean is "that I like".
Talk about one of the most controversial anime here! Discuss whether you think the plot was great or it was just a depressed guy whining. Who is better, Asuka or Rei? Talk about how you loved/hated then ending(s)!
I liked the show.
When is this show supposed to get good? I'm on like episode 10 and I'm still not interested yet. I thought this was supposed to be deep and full of awesome characters and shit?
You heard wrong man. I'm sorry for you. If there's anything that Eva is not, it's deep.
>>68
It gets much better from episode 13 or so to 23.
Also, you ARE watching the subtitled version, and not the horrible English dub, right?
the congratulations! ending was pretty good, every other shot at it get progressively worse.
I think people mistook [is that a word?] suggested complexity for depth.
Of course. I wouldn't watch an anime any other way.
So it turns out the first Rebuild movie sold about 220000 copies in the first week, completely crushing everybody else. That kind of sales for anime is apparently unheard of outside of Ghibli and Disney movies.
No wonder, really, Evangelion was amazingly popular, and the movie really is great.
And that's nothing compared to the number of pirate copies!
>>74
Heck yes! I can't wait for a state side release!
I just rewatched it, and I was really surprised at how uneven it is. Not in terms of quality -- I liked pretty much all of it equally, and the last two episodes or so weren't as insufferable as I had remembered -- but the tone of it really changes. Maybe it was my mood at the time, but the first two or three episodes were just incredibly depressing, and then Asuka showed up about five episodes later and it basically turned into robot of the week/comedy with some pseudophilosophy here and there until the end when it turned into gibberish.
