It's a stylistic treat, and it reeks of Earthbound.
If you haven't picked it up yet, it's worth picking up just for the style.
Comparing this shit anime to Earthbound is an incredible insensitive insult to Earthbound.
I watched the first ten episodes, and it seems to be just a monster-of-the-day show with lots of fanservice. Am I missing something?
EVA is pretty good. Awesome animation & designs and kinda good story. imo tho
Pose this question on 4chan's /a/ then enjoy the fireworks
>I watched the first ten episodes
It doesn't get really good until towards the end.
Evangelion picks up around episode 14.
Rebuild of Evangelion never picks up though, it's really bad. Don't watch Rebuild.
That's a bloody long time for a show to get good, especially for my 3 episode rule.
I just recently watched it myself. Although it did fail to meet my lofty expectations of it I still really enjoyed watching it. Certainly not the greatest anime ever made but it definitely still holds up.
I watched it somewhat recently. No other series is as hyped it seems to me. I enjoyed it a lot - my favorite scene was when Rei smiles. I didn't enjoy End of Evangelion or the Rebuilds as much though.
I have seen all of azumanga daioh and berserk so far aswell as porco rosso, flying castle lepanto and a few cowboy bebop and evangelion episodes, I liked them all.
What do you suggest?
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Check out Record of Lodoss War. It's short, goldie oldie OVA from the early 90s with one of the most beautiful elves ever.
I'm looking for something cute and light hearted, but reserved. Perhaps something with a Touhou or Gosick vibe.
im out of anime to watch
genshiken nidaime maybe
Watch Kuma Miko
Both part 3 and part 4 have a major tonal shift as caused by character death, Stardust Crusaders is broken up into two smaller parts, one where they travel to Egypt, and then the part where they're in Dio's mansion, and Diamond is Unbreakable is broken up into two parts, where they meet local, mostly harmless stand users, and where the genre shifts to more murder mystery.
The two parts are distinctly cartoony and dark respectively, but the opening always changes from the lighter opening to the dark one like, 6 episodes early.
Oh, I almost forgot.
They also had a somber, reflective ending theme for the last half of Stardust Crusaders, but didn't play it when it would have had the most emotional torque. What the fuck, guys.
So I want to get into fate stay night. I love magic spell casting and all that kind of stuff..
I went through the process of getting the VNs up and running, read one for a couple hours and it's actually great but oh god so long..
I've watched the illya animes because she's just so cute but now I'm wondering: what other series and films should I watch next in what order?
and is it ok if i drop the VN? Maybe I should try to get back into it, it was a while ago and I kind of lost my place..
You could probably find some save file somewhere, if not you can get Realta Nua and the big translation patch (make sure you enable 18+ content because there are some weird changes). If you remember which route you finished if any you could then continue from there. You could just watch the UBW TV series and then just read the last route- HF
The anime order is UBW TV series -> HF Movie series (not out yet) -> Zero, but this misses out adapting the first route.
Is there any particular reason why most end-of-episode "previews" in anime consist only of one of the characters talking directly to the audience about some random shit the writers must've thought was funny that has nothing to do with the next episode?
Because the writers think it's funny. I think it's amusing sometimes too.
For example, assuming >>0's favorite was Looney Tunes: That's not an anime, dumbshit. However, it is crippled by lack of a central plot, nonexistant character development, and inability to focus on a single set of characters.
My fave: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
No protracted arguments in this thread please, just keep it going.
do you mean dirty as in muddy or dirty as in perverted?
Watch the show or even just read about it.
The characters could be more developed, a lot of the social commentaries are ham fisted, the humour falls flat more often than not, status quo is god so there's not much tension and the romance was laden with forced drama.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes
The writers only told and did very little showing; the space battles were samey; antagonists(who are variable) are consistently stupid; the animation is incredibly unreliable and mercurial; tactical 'skill' in the universe requires nothing more than a lack of mental retardation and a elementary level geometry knowledge; the show ran for the better part of a season without most of it's meaningful characters; Reuenthal and the writers get bored with his standing for no reason; the battles serve the plot, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it makes a lot of battles stupid and they lose stakes.
Shin Sekai Yori
Why is this thread alive again?
because this place is a ghost-town.
Anyone else notice that? Makes me not want to watch anime..
Wich ones? i've seen lots of good material around, Zombie-loan, Soul eater, and even the classic ones.
Moe is the answer you are looking for. Catering to pedobear otaku is profitable, so anime studios have forsaken the model of broad appeal that gave us stuff like Macross and Cowboy Bebop back in the good old days of the 80s-90s.
I English might be incomplete because the Japanese ...
Recently about 10% of Japan's anime I do Eroge is in the original, I think How about that?
