Anyone else notice that? Makes me not want to watch anime..
Wich ones? i've seen lots of good material around, Zombie-loan, Soul eater, and even the classic ones.
Moe is the answer you are looking for. Catering to pedobear otaku is profitable, so anime studios have forsaken the model of broad appeal that gave us stuff like Macross and Cowboy Bebop back in the good old days of the 80s-90s.
For example, assuming >>0's favorite was Looney Tunes: That's not an anime, dumbshit. However, it is crippled by lack of a central plot, nonexistant character development, and inability to focus on a single set of characters.
My fave: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
No protracted arguments in this thread please, just keep it going.
A show about how dirty the human body is.
do you mean dirty as in muddy or dirty as in perverted?
Watch the show or even just read about it.
The characters could be more developed, a lot of the social commentaries are ham fisted, the humour falls flat more often than not, status quo is god so there's not much tension and the romance was laden with forced drama.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes
The writers only told and did very little showing; the space battles were samey; antagonists(who are variable) are consistently stupid; the animation is incredibly unreliable and mercurial; tactical 'skill' in the universe requires nothing more than a lack of mental retardation and a elementary level geometry knowledge; the show ran for the better part of a season without most of it's meaningful characters; Reuenthal and the writers get bored with his standing for no reason; the battles serve the plot, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it makes a lot of battles stupid and they lose stakes.
Shin Sekai Yori
Why is this thread alive again?
because this place is a ghost-town.
I English might be incomplete because the Japanese ...
Recently about 10% of Japan's anime I do Eroge is in the original, I think How about that?
HOW TO DRAW MEWTWO!
Lately....my excitement, my hype , my "just one more episode", my feelings about ANIME are worsening....
I need HELP....
I know I still love anime and adore it but I need the feelings at the time I started to watch anime come back.
At that time....I think that was the best feelings I ever had in my life.
Feel like I have found something that I wanna do and can talk about it all weeks....
What should I do to get the feelings back?!?!!?!?!
Are y'all really Japanese and not good at English, or are you just typing that way for ironic effect?
You're just burnt out. That's all.
Don't watch anime for a while, and I'm sure you'll be able to enjoy anime to its fullest once again.
And trust me, I know what I'm talking about. I've been burnt out so many times before.
Been suffering the same thing for eight years now.
Try to find a new hobby, like model making or making electronics, it's pretty time consuming and fun to learn.
Sometimes you will fond a good anime. Wait for thwtday
Is there any particular reason why most end-of-episode "previews" in anime consist only of one of the characters talking directly to the audience about some random shit the writers must've thought was funny that has nothing to do with the next episode?
That is Karen from Nisemonogatari
I watched the first ten episodes, and it seems to be just a monster-of-the-day show with lots of fanservice. Am I missing something?
It's a good show, but so overrated that it can never live up to expectations. Stick with it and the "End of Evangelion" movie will provide a nice payoff at the end.
The endless new EVA redux cash grabs are another story altogether. Redux EVA is basically a cynical welfare program for Anno based on tarting up old girl EVA with Otaku fanservice like "glasses girls", and making her "turn tricks" in this new guise for pimp Anno.
It was an early anime to get mainstream success and exposure in the west which I think contributes a lot to it's reputation. It's also a pretty big mindfuck for 14 year olds.
Also Rei a shit.
EVA is pretty good. Awesome animation & designs and kinda good story. imo tho
Pose this question on 4chan's /a/ then enjoy the fireworks
Mainly Japanese history.
If WW2 is your thing, you might like "The Cockpit". It is on YouTube here:
Any of you nerds seen Dimension W?
No, looks fun though and has a cute robot girl.
It is okay, but it will be very forgettable.
I won't remember it in 3 years, but it's fun to watch and the way that they seem to be basically just making up the sci-fi aspect as they go along is hilarious and great.
It was pretty dank, I watched the first two episodes and forgot to download the rest. Is it still worth watching?
what the fuck why did they do that?
I heard somewhere that Japan doesn't give .9 fucks about Watamote.
It's just a more unrealistic/moé/whatever take on the whole Welcome to the NHK!, Genshiken, etc. thing. The character isn't interesting or pitiable when she's just a comic stereotype.
Watamote isn't that popular over there. I thought it was kinda decent
I guess she was just
NOT POPULAR ENOUGH! HA!
I thought Watamote's gimmick was pretty tired after the first few chapters.
Watamote is one of those rare exceptions where it's more popular with westerners than Japs. Did it hit too close to home for the otaku?
