i was on an anime forum like a week or so ago i forgot what the topic was, but for some reason i mentioned in a non-threating way that i didn't much care for any of the animes on cartoon-network of adult swim naruto, inuyasha, bleach, ect. anyway everybody in that toppic starrted yelling at me, and i eventually got BANNED from the forum!!!! whats up with that? So i dont like naruto, is that really that bad? Am i the only one that feels this way?

No. You are not alone. I am surprised you do not realize that most anime fans are immature, insecure, faggots who live vicariously through shitty animu.

Yeah, I don't much care for those either.

Interestingly enough, a lot of those kids are the ones that "don't get" the seinen series like Lucky Star or even Azumanga Daiou.

And they also bash Gainax and some of the more audacious Anime directors more than they should.

One could just as well state that you were clearly on the wrong forum. Doesn't do much good posting about how you hate linux on a linux fanboi forum either, for example.

Doesn't mean the topic shouldn't be approached. I mean, the whole idea of forums is the exchange of ideas and opinions. I think it's pretty unfortunate you got banned for hating the right anime, but I bet the mods were just trying to keep things calm. But to answer your question, no, you're not alone in disliking those generic series you mentioned. The best thing to happen to adult swim was cowboy bebop, and that was ages ago. Since then they've picked up long running series that are really bland and boring. The only anime they have that I ,for some reason, keep missing is Ghost in the Shell, so I can't really pass judgment on it. Frankly, I'm having a hard time finding any good anime at all, even beyond adult swim.

As for Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh..... I dunno. I feel like I "get" the nerd culture behind Lucky Star, but the self awareness and blatant Haruhi promoting has grated on my last nerve to the point where I don't want to finish the series. As for this Azumanga Daioh, I feel creepy watching it, since it seems more aimed at girls than guys.

Not really, though there's not reason girls couldn't enjoy it. Dengeki Daiou, though, isn't really a typical "gir's magazine":

That being said, I don't care much for the dub on American television, but some of those series I suppose have a nice gee-whizz appeal to them. Not much worse than the rest of television out there, and probably significantly better. But yeah, I can't stand those dubs, even the good ones. ) :

Most anime that airs on American televisions, like most of the manga that are translated and sold in her bookstores, are shounen.

So I guess you have to tap into your inner twelve-year-old to appreciate them.

Yeah, Lucky Star was supposed to be self-conscious and fan-service infested, just like Haruhi and Fumoffu were. The shows are like parodies of themselves, that's why I like them so much! ^^
