Paranoia Agent wasn't what I expected it to be. (5)

I had a lot of people here suggest I watch this because it was highly experimental in it's subject matter. Frankly, it was terribly boring and about as complex as a high school philosophy class. Had to force myself to continue.

As far as I'm concerned, DEEP anime almost always falls into one of the following categories:

  • So ridiculously pretentious you want to punch someone in the face (Eva, etc..)
  • Mindfuck that can be a really fun ride so long as you don't try too hard to understand it. (My favorite example would be the Utena movie)

But I thought Paranoia Agent was closer to the 2nd category than the 1st.

>>1 did you watch the entire series or just a few episodes?

The entire series. I found it lost any "intellectual" aspect (lol?) after about episode 6, and just turned into crap.

I don't think it had any before episode 6, the interesting stuff started in the second half.

For me anyway.
