Of course, there are a few.

But hey, I wouldn't mind Magical Girls in High School, or some outcast kid that found a way into a wonderland where he belongs but isn't the king of.

Discuss.

Naturally, the main character would be a Japanese exchange student or at least half Japanese.

An anime about the US would be so ridiculous and absurd it would scare away even the most hardened *chan dweller.

8 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2008-09-24 02:06 ID:HEiNQa5I

They can explain American culture lessons with some anime episodes

I love Samurai Jack and PPG and Tom and Jerry by MGM
and old works of Hanna-Barbera.

Also like I Home Movies that is non-Hanna-Barbera product.

Chrono Crusade is set in the "roaring 20's" of America. basically USA in the 1920s. I don't think there are any Japanese people in Chrono crusade, are there?

... yea >>12 I agree

No offensive but the US [I live here T_T] isn't all that great!
are trade policy is CRAP, techinally the only American Culture thats a CULTURE is teh Native Americans who r AWESOME, look at our past. It's filled with ingnorence! WE stole form the Native Amercians, all the Manifest Dystiney Garbage, lets the c Espionage Act as well all of our Anti-German/American crap during that time, and again WWII, we shoved all the Jappanese in Camps. The there was the whole Civl Rights acts for Women in teh 1910-1920 [They got the the right to vote in the 1919's cuzof the great help they contributed to ur Economiey during WWI]

But anime about the US would be offensive, the most interesting things we have is our crappy past! Though we did have some good things in our past xD just none that i remember!

Hopefully we here in the US will learn form our past mistakes!

GTFO democrat butt fucker. You don't think the Germans and Japanese are all that innocent? The Germans had the holocaust. The Japanese raped China and killed babies.

Culture is more than the Native Americans that were wiped out by imperialists. Culture is culture. You've got african american culture. You've got southern culture. You've got ranchers, cowboys and bandits. You've got military culture. You've got The Golden Years. The Depression. The Prohabition. And you say the only culture we have is Native American culture? Now STFU and open your fucking eyes instead of reading and watching the anti-american bullshit that your democrat sponsored, union loving, janitorial butt-kissing, socialist education has set up for you. Before you know it, you'll just become another one of the sheeple.

You seem to have a butt fixation. Just relax and go do it for real, you'll feel better about yourself and perhaps become less hysterical ^^)
Everybody knows all countries have culture, don't be so pumped up beating such a dead horse.

29 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2009-01-14 22:04 ID:B+VCBNig

Baccano almost turned out well until you notice more than one plot

30 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2009-03-09 05:23 ID:27azOXpD

Why do we care where it's placed?

Most of our cartoons don't take place in Japan. Some do, like Samurai Jack. But for the most part, the US cartoons depict US settings because that is what the authors know.

Whenever America shows up in anime, it tends to be something of a stereotype. Japanese depictions of foreigners tends to be somewhat less than kind, and they aren't a very multicultural nation. This is neither good nor bad, but it would pretty much mean that not much difference would be made in a US-based anime other than the fact that it would be making fun of you.

>it would be making fun of you.

Like Hollywood does Japan?
