Like NHK, Honey & Clover, Genshiken.
Maybe Maison Ikkoku, whch I've never seen, and Love Hina.
The Nodame Cantabile anime is coming up this winter season. If it's as good as the drama it'll be a must-see.
The Animation Runner Kuromi OVAs also come to mind, although they lean towards exagerrated slapstick.
>You will like Monster
I've seen some of Monster, and I mean to finish it... seems like a completely different genre, though.
Nodame Cantabile is looking great. I forgot about it, but then I joined my school's anime club and they were showing it.
This season, there's also a new You're Under Arrest TV anime. Workplace comedy about eccentric traffic cops.
Mahoraba (a series superficially similar to Love Hina) might be worth checking out. It's not wholly realistic but is considerably more down to earth then most comedies of its type. Also has very nice slice-of-life moments.
Apologies for ageing an old thread, but have any more been released since? I have watched/read just about everything ITT.
Someone from 2006 really exists on the internet? And here I was thinking we were awash with facebookers and kids who get given macbooks for their birthday.
Age for self-interest.
Well, I've had a look through my collection, and much to my surprise, the only show I've seen that even comes close and has not been mentioned here is Yomigaeru Sora: Rescue Wings. That one is a pretty realistic drama about a JASDF helicopter rescue squad, set at the real JASDF Komatsu base in Ishikawa prefecture.
