Randomly picked up and book about her 'life as a novelist' or something like that and then decided to read the book next to it because it was tiny and she sounded interesting. (It's in archive.org btw)

The book was so weird and new because of the setting. I read through it because of the romance but I am gay like that. I don't think I've ever read a book that was set in around 1900s (I think) California and I am not actually too interested in Gertrude Atherton. So recommend me books set in that pre 1900s period in California and kind of Southern perspective.
