And Another Thing… is the title of the upcoming sixth installment of Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy "trilogy". The book will be written by Eoin Colfer, author of the Artemis Fowl series, and is due to be published in October 2009 by Penguin Books. Colfer was given permission to write the book by Adams' widow Jane Belson.

As with all Hitchhiker's works, the title is an quotation from an existing novel, this time taken from Chapter 3 of Life, The Universe and Everything.

Naturally I'm a little weary of things like this, but I'll judge when I read it.

I for one am looking forward to it and am glad the stories are being carried on. Colfer is a decent author, we shall see how well it is carried out...

Aren't trilogies usually written by the same author?

theoretically. also, trilogies are over-rated, not sure why that is always the goal for publishers. Hitchhikers Guide does not need the 'trilogy' label to sell more copies, though maybe they'll make a cool cover for them now...

Trilogies also usually contain between two and four parts.
