Something must be done about /dqn/ (14)

Who I am isn't important, but what I have to say is. This is an issue that likely effects every member of this board, and it should be one that does. As you may be aware, a board on 4-ch called "/dqn/" is the largest board on this site. It's also a very silly one. Over the years, we've grown a unique culture which combines some old Something Awful / 2channel / 4chan jokes along with our own, and due to the nature of textboards our culture has thrived.

However, the board feels like it's recently been losing what makes it special. It's hard to say exactly what this quality is... but it feels like there's less of an intellectual edge to the jokes, and the ironic stupidity is no longer ironic. I don't know what would have brought about this change, but I suspect that several new users from 4chan somehow found their way in and decided to bring their posting style with them.

I'm really not sure how many other people feel this way, but it's been something which has been bothering me a lot lately, and from what I can tell a few others are too. I miss my old /dqn/ and I want to see the bad posters leave. It's really not an Elitist Superstructure at all anymore. It feels more like an Obnoxious Playpen, to be honest.

The solution? A return of moderation. The archives show that 4-ch used to have moderators (squeeks, Shii, whoever else) posting and moderating fairly often. Presently, moderation is undetectable and likely nonexistent. People who make terribly unfunny and irrelevant posts should not only have their shitty posts/threads deleted but also possibly face banishment to the Tanasinn chambers. Hopefully I'm not the only one that feels this way; does anyone agree or disagree with what I think?

(・∀・) Grandpa, what was DQN like before your nostalgia filter rose-tinted its past?

But there is moderation. And the threads are largely the same.

You do know there's a "Requests" board for moderation and such, right?

Dear moderators, please delete /dqn/

It is a silly place. It is leading our children astray. THINK OF THE CHILDREN.

I'm new around here, so a bit eager to speculate. Little blue birdie just told me the clique of clonepa/mistercqnzr moved their secret place out of 4-ch. Perhaps all you need is to polish your twert and markov chains skills and go meet em on Chan 2.0. Sadly, it appears it's not 1993 anymore.
