You're almost certainly correct. If they had a video, why not send you a link to the video, or at least a frame from it? That would be a hell of a lot more convincing.
I got the lame knock-off version of that, I think. Same threat style, but the username/password they included was "cdpTR", "eIvELbfLw". I know the ways I used to generate passwords, and I never would have used that password, not even as a teenager signing up for a vBulletin forum so that I could download jack1112's attachment of part 4 of a grainy 400x300 video in which a woman might take her top off.
At first, I thought that they'd accidentally found a hash collision with one of my throw-away passwords, which would be pretty cool, but the username is also garbage and nothing I would have ever used. So they probably just copied one of your spammers' emails and put random stuff in.
Anyway, they claimed that I had only 5 contacts. I feel like I've lost a contest with you.
