Perhaps. Again, I can't claim to be vastly different. Nor can bored programmers who occupied their time with Maze War, or teenagers who sat in their rooms playing Jet Set Willy.
I just don't like that a whole "subculture" has sprung up around it. People have hobbies and similar interests--great. But there's just something uncomfortable about people identifying as "gamers" and coming up with their own in-jokes and memes and whatnot.
I feel like a pretentious hypocrite.
