It's always "been its own subculture" man. From the days of reprogramming an Atari in your basement, to the days of Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow players challenging each other to a battle on the playground at school, to today where people have Quake or Halo LAN partys with 4 plasma screen TVs in their living room.

The problem are those fucking hipster douchecanoes who play angry birds on their iPad/iPhone and say "GAMER 4 LYFE! I LOVE 9GAG!" And don't even get me started on "gamer girls".
