Write down tasks that are specific. Instead of "internet bill," write "call internet company support to ask about bill." Instead of writing "study for test" write "read pages 10-20 of DQN Textbook and complete 5 example problems." Instead of "clean room" write "-pick up books -put papers in file -vacuum" and do one at a time.

Don't try to assign tasks to specific times unless they need to be. I tried this and it failed miserably. Trust in your own ability to complete things at your leisure. Give yourself little rewards for completing tasks. Positive reinforcement is much easier than trying to force yourself to do or not do things.

The hardest part of a todo list is inertia. It easy to keep completing tasks once you get started, but getting started can be very difficult. Instead of vaguely thinking "I should get started on my todo list" focus on a specific physical action like closing your computer and standing up to get a glass of water, from which point you might find you have much more willingness to get started.
