I wonder if that's right. It sounds reasonable, but take Buddhist monks for example, their whole goal is to remove suffering, so I assume that they do not have a lot of stress. This isn't to say that they don't have things that could potentially stress someone else out. For example, a normal person would be very stressed with only one bowl of rice a day. But as a Buddhist monk, they have trained themselves to ignore their wants and desires. I guess the comment must be trying to say people who don't ignore their desires and always get what they desire will break when they don't get what they desire. It seems like it is trying to suggest that we should seek out pain in order to be happy. But I think a better solution would be to go down the middle path, and neither seek pain nor seek pleasure.
