Why is it when people start a post with "Am I the only one that...", whatever follows is never anywhere near unique enough to be an interesting observation?

because when people say "am I the only one that" and no one else does it, you won't hear about the discussion

you only see the posts that other people upvote/agree with/engage with because it influences social media algorithms and makes you more likely to see said posts

plenty of unpopular opinions are posted and never viewed

perhaps they are even shadowbanned or even straight-up deplatformed
