What do you guys think of males with [men's] skinny jeans?

9 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-07-27 04:08 ID:SvyeMQmQ

>>8 then show us a pic of a guy who isn't gay or emo and actually look good/hot with skinny jeans on.

10 Name: faggot : 2008-07-27 04:36 ID:faEXSJZa

i think theyre sexy, but im a fashion forward male, not a girl.
i think the female opinion matters the most to the males.

11 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-07-27 08:50 ID:PdS15QuD

As a female, all I can say is,

"Yuck."

They look painful and wimpy. Straight legged, slightly narrow is okay. But jeans that make you look like you have skinnier legs than your woman? No way.

12 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-07-28 22:07 ID:Heaven

>>9
Rockstars are excluded, of course.

13 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-06 08:04 ID:N2vjNgAs

Unless you have more female features than male ones, I'd stay away from them.

14 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-28 19:13 ID:saai9neT

theyre hideous. there isnt a single girl out there who wants a guy who wears tighter jeans than she does. amongst fashion nerds that frequent supertalk's superdenim or styleforum, the trend is already dying and heading back to classic cuts. guys finally realized it isnt worth crushing your balls and having girls laugh at you just so that other guys who are fashion nerds can comment on how nice the fades are.

15 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-29 03:32 ID:DkcKE1dQ

>amongst fashion nerds that frequent supertalk's superdenim or styleforum

shudder

16 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-29 05:42 ID:7hrSz/MZ

Just wear something comfortable...if tight jeans are the most comfortable for you, who's to say you're wrong?

17 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-29 06:08 ID:Y2n3FNEs

>>14

I like my tight pants because it helps me reel in the other faggy emo boys. :D
And the occasional manly girl.

18 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-29 21:37 ID:saai9neT

>>17
well in that case, more power to ya. fashion nerds are so metro these days, i forget that some guys are actually gay.

gothic lolita (10)

Ah..! I'm searching for a cheap lolita outfits in the net..but I can't find one! I don't if it's bargain...as long as its cheap..

2 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-02-26 02:44 ID:5fN0/ERo

No idea madam, have you considered making a outfit? It could be a cool side hobby.

3 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-02-27 18:59 ID:dkhsRGhf

lol "cheap gothic lolita"

4 Name: Guru : 2008-07-06 05:00 ID:QBo1BozV

I don't think there's such thing as 'cheap gothic lolita outfits'
Unless you really want something crappy and wont look good one you >.>
If you want something half decent and a pretty decent price, ebay.com is probably your best bet.
Some of the Lolita dress sellers on there make pretty good dresses and the price is pretty good, if you're not looking for name brand stuff that is.

5 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-07-13 04:09 ID:Y2/JKvyk

Ebay, definitely.
Of course, the fabric is pretty cheap (especially compared to real brands), but they don't look terrible and you can get them for extremely cheap.

6 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-07-13 09:56 ID:Ta7ZCmTF

Why do you even bother dressing up as a gothic lolita if you want to find something cheap and crappy? if your going to dress up like one you might as well go all the way and not worry about the cost unless of course your just doing it because all your friends are dressing up like one then it's okay to dress "cheap"

7 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-07-15 17:13 ID:g7EvUatn

well the bottom line is that nothing beats self-made works.U can design it and go to some boutique or any other place that can accept those and let them do all the work (but how much it cost, depends on how you choose the materials and the way u design the cloth).

Btw, good luck for the costume hunting! ^^

Hey doesn't being a "cheap gothic lolita" defeat the purpose of most lolitas? Of course alot make their own but buy cheap? Never heard tha one.

9 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-28 12:04 ID:4K3HwK44

that officially makes you a wannabe

10 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-29 10:06 ID:VUPLC/mo

All the gothic loli stores around where I live (and there are many) are, once you consider the exchange rate, very cheap. So they do exist but I doubt you'll find anything cheap on the English internet.

how prevalent is plastic surgery in japan? (6)

1 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-06-26 15:48 ID:K6vGNxNv

from what i understand, and from what my japanese friends have told me... a lot of japanese girls have plastic surgery, especially on their eyelids... but just how prevalent is it among japanese girls today exactly? i know they don't see it as a big deal, and i have heard that one in ten japanese girls have had something done... but is it true?

2 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-06-29 06:33 ID:LbQkuCy7

Fashion Photography (5)

1 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-03-20 23:11 ID:JXnMW9h+

Hi,
Currently I go to a university studying computer engineering and japanese but recently I have become unhappy with computer engineering (but not Japanese) and I was thinking about getting into fashion photography. I was looking in fashion magazines and just seeing this beautiful art form. I just wanted to ask if anyone else was also in or studying to become affilated with the fashion photography industry and how it was? Is it over saturated with photographers and also how demanding and competitive is it? I find this art form so beautiful and breath taking that I just want to start doing it. I don't know anything about photography though but I just would like to know just about the demand for photographers in that industry.
Thank you

2 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-03-21 22:41 ID:Tazk7a9D

I don't know much about the industry itself, but I have a friend who is going to be attending art school for just that.

Photography is really fun, there are hundreds of good internet resources for people who want to start taking good photos.

3 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-05-11 02:32 ID:v7sqWvAT

Very small extremely competitive market low pay long hours.

Don't change your major, take up photography as a hobby.

4 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-28 12:05 ID:KP0vTaON

you need to keep upgrading your tools of trade (cameras) its expensive and risky if you dont have an eye for composition/colours etc

I think I might have been the one to post that, not sure.

Best Looking in Asia (32)

1 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-04-03 16:55 ID:rWyW/ac2

Now in everyone's honest opinion (and no blind patriotism please), which Asian country do you think has the best looking people? And which, the best dressed?

No flame war please. Just want to find out what everyone thinks.

23 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-05-02 23:18 ID:4KsKorve

>>20 sure, if you like ladyboys

for me I like Hong Kong or Japan, for looks and fashion, but Korea has some vast mainstream appeal, too.

24 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-05-28 07:27 ID:0+vrSjfC

Koreans dress pretty pimp.

Japanese are more physically attractive.

25 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-05-30 12:51 ID:JUQoWkA3

I'm a weeaboo so I'd have to go with Japan, like all of the other people who said Japan.

26 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-06-16 14:40 ID:xjNbeKsx

2 Choices:

  1. Thailand. Typically: Their eyes are wide and balanced. Straight, un-flat noses. Prim lips.
  2. Korea: Typically: White, clean, non-pimpled faces. Simple eyes that are beautiful.

U sure or not??? =______________________=

28 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-06-27 20:17 ID:OP2KMo3t

i'd say korea or japan. but then, maybe not, because so many of the women from these two places are only beautiful because of plastic surgery.

so i'll say china. they have less plastic beauties there, and there are a lot cuties

29 Name: Guru : 2008-07-06 04:56 ID:IUwiJdBa

Japanese and Koreans IMO

30 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-24 02:37 ID:pIAvSgiF

korea ftw

31 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-28 12:01 ID:aVDTmG26

... there are only a lot of cuties because china has the largest population?? duh.

32 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-28 12:03 ID:aVDTmG26

agree with 28, korea and japan looks too fake.
i'll say thailand

Dreadlocks (7)

Cool or not?

2 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-11 10:22 ID:MeuqUf9U

Definately cool, although it might not suit everyone.

3 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-11 12:36 ID:tcQLphIs

Can be totally cool. Depends on your face, but also on your main clothing style and your attitude.

Also remember that in some social circles they're really not well received; that they mostly make you instantaneously prejudiced as a hippie by 90% of the people you'll encounter; that they might make finding a work difficult, depending on what you're searching for.

And for toppers; dreads need attention, but however well you take care of them, they'll end up getting mouldy. And when you don't want them anymore, you'll have to shave your head.

4 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-12 00:04 ID:iGn+7Ali

OP here. Basically I finish school in 3 months, and have been growing out my hair for about the last 9 months... I'm not worried about shaving it because I have been shaving my head for the last 4 years of my life :P

I think here, in NZ, I won't have too much trouble finding a part time job while at university with them, and so I have at least 5 years before I even have to consider a real job.

Supposedly, according to my friends anyway, they will suit me, but I like to get opinions of the more important of social interaction with outside from other people...
So, thank you all!

5 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-14 07:10 ID:E5UVkQyx

If you just get a Doom shirt and some Carhart overalls you can be a crust punk.

Keep in mind that people will categorize you by the way you present yourself. To a certain degree people use their bodies as methods of identifying themselves to other members of whatever subculture they participate in. Depending on the places you go be prepared to face the assumptions that you smoke weed, listen to nu-metal or reggae or crust, are liberal-leaning or a radical leftist, etc. If these things don't bother you or are somewhat accurate in defining your interests then go for it.

Oh and expect the police to hassle you a lot for the aforementioned reasons.

My hair is still about six months shy of dreads. I'm of the anarcho-punk persuasion myself, and I have a union job in a factory so if my supervisor doesn't like it I can tell them to get fucked. Your mileage may very.

6 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-15 05:20 ID:mhcAnlSa

OP here again.

>>5

Yeah crust, black metal and hardcore are how I roll. So that isn't an issue for me atm!

I'm more of a centre - libertarian if you go by the quadrant system of thought tho! Hmm so far it all sounds positive, as a teenager I get a whole lot of police attention anyway, so again, that doesn't bother me at all. You don't get charged with possesion in NZ if you only have enough for yourself, so basically weed won't be a problem for me anyway!

7 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-28 07:54 ID:6p1P+f0f

in my opinion it all depends on who does them and what style they are
like the really thick ones on brown hair makes your head look like its covered in a ton of little shits
the thinner ones look best on most people, talk to your friends, be a looser and try making fake ones for a day and try seeing which ones look best for your face.

Dreds can be super sexy or uber nasty

That nice Japanese hair texture for guys... how? (4)

1 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-22 09:29 ID:SDVFL5O8

I only say Japanese because most people are familiar with them. But it seems all East Asians nowadays have this really nice soft hair that looks cool when long. My hair looks clumpy and thick like in those old Hong Kong movies. So I know it's not just the genes, it's mostly what I do.

But I'm a guy, and as desperate as I am to get that nice texture, I don't know what is "going too far". What do most males who care about their hair in Asian cities do? Do they commonly get it chemically treated? Or is it simply that their products are better for Asians because it's Asia?

2 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-22 13:35 ID:kgpAKHoa

Some guys do get it chemically treated. Hair is pretty cheap to get it done there. But I think most of them use a straightening iron or blow dry it straight.

By the way, are you Asian by any chance? Having Asian hair would probably help..

3 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-23 21:46 ID:G9oJFJ1u

> By the way, are you Asian by any chance?

Hopefully, or then he's the biggest weeaboo ever.

4 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-24 19:08 ID:SDVFL5O8

Yes...I'm Asian. Otherwise I wouldn't mention Hong Kong movies and products that are better for Asians. I am American, however, and where I'm from Asians mostly spike their hair, but when it isn't it looks just as bad as mine. Which is why I bring up Asians from a different country.

How to get rid of that smell in new jeans? (5)

1 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-07-27 08:46 ID:QyqaTisr

You know that really chemical smelling stench that you get with new jeans? Particularly black coloured jeans. I want to get the smell out without having to wash the goddamn thing to shreds.

2 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-07-27 13:17 ID:Heaven

Wear them.

3 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-10 19:07 ID:b9OtQYu1

Wash them and then put one of those scented liners into the dryer.

4 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-11 18:44 ID:xMYTzFW7

Roll them in shit.

5 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-20 19:32 ID:4qzSA5+n

if you wear them for a bit, over time your body will naturally neutralize that smell. then wash with whatever detergent you like

no special technique unless you wanna wash them right away. but id suggest you wear them first so the material is a little worn before you go ahead and wash it to get a better wash

3 Name: Anonymous Stylist : 2008-08-14 07:18 ID:wu3DnFwx

Unless you have a way to get the tobacco direct from the manufacturer, you're likely to get shitty stale tobacco all the time. Nobody buys the stuff so it just sits on the shelf for months.

You can roll them up in ten seconds, but I can pack, open, and light one from the cardboard container in half that time. Since I have a job I don't really mind paying the extra couple dimes per cigarette.

Are you one of those assholes who insists on using matches instead of lighters, too?

i dont smoke but i think cigarettes are cool if thats what you wanna do. im all about being time efficient. so if it's easier to buy a pack and use a lighter, why not?
