Hey guys, I am new to smoking and I was wondering what brands I should try first.

Urmistergay is a pretty reasonable cigarrette.

Do you mean as in taste? If you're interested in the actual taste then you may as well go for cigars (they do small ones as well as those big ones you see in movies) plus also you aren't really supposed to take the smoke into your lungs with them - you just have it in your mouth for flavour. So I guess that cuts down on lung cancer risk. But you're still going to get mouth cancer, which is going to be a bitch.

Needs drug forum.

Hobbies forum would probably be the best place. I seem to remember seeing a smoker's thread in there before.

or personnal issues.

I think it says a lot about the person who decides that a smoking thread belongs in /fashion/.

Psst. You don't look cool.

Marlboro reds are good but not for the first time person. For the beginning of your trail to lung cancer, you should start off with menthol cigarettes. They are easier to accept smoking then full flavor. For menthol I would suggest Marlboro Milds, Newports, or any other menthol cigs (just keep away from really cheap cigs unless its rolling tabacco). Rolling tabacco saves money and lasts longer then packs of pre-made cigarettes but there is no filter and can be harsh at first (It's like smoking non-filtered lucky strikes). Really, it comes down to what you like. Also, I am sure you know smoking is bad for you and I am not going to remind you of the dangers (I smoke too and I know its bad for me but I love smoking). Just make sure when you want to quit, if you ever do, the come down is harsh and you'll probably need help.

Smoking hasn't been fashionable since the 1950's. The non-smokers have just become more nazi about living the way they do, which is suppose to be healthier, and have changed the fashion ability of smoking but whatever.

well, there's normal tobacco as mentioned in 12. they pretty much summed that up there....i like to smoke cloves. same disadvantages as normal cigarettes but better taste and smell. my favorite kind would be djarum cherry or vanilla; the former being the better choice. they are sold in tobacco shops so no point in looking for them in the gas stations or in super markets. give them a try

I don't recommend cloves. They'll tear your throat, and for some people, they're just -too- strongly flavored. If you're looking to smoke to look cool? Start with lights or ultra-lights when it comes to cigarettes. Brands don't matter as much as you think they do, but pick something nice and high quality. Camels are nice. They're also a little more on the fashionable side(as in you won't seem like a redneck) if you go with them.

From a fashion standpoint? Marlboro reds are only acceptable if you're going for a tougher look.

All this doesn't apply, of course, if you use a nice cigarette case. And by nice, I don't mean something out of a convenience store with a picture of Dr. Dre on it.

Camel lights (blues?) are quite alright, not too strong and personally I think they smell less than for example Marlboros.

Too non-smokers, they all smell the same. Bad.

I'm a non smoker and I can stand some of the cigarettes that my friends smoke but can't stand some other brands that other friends smoke. I quite like the smell of some cigarettes (but not when its stale smoke), so they obviously don't all smell the same to non-smokers.
