Fast Food Restaurant Copies* (5)

Places like McDonald's, KFC, and so on. I'd like to make my own copies* of the meals, mainly because I was to try to make a less fatty version of it. I'm not trying to completely cut it out....just lessen it.

Can anyone give me a recipe or hints as to how to cut down the fat?

This would be pretty much impossible for you, unfortunately. In the process of fast-food mass production, there are so many ingredients and processes involved to make them tastier. I once read that a happy meal is something like 50% corn, for example. You wouldn't be able to easily emulate the highly processed fast food to get the same sort of taste.

What you really want to do is find a recipe to make a good ol' normal burger, or fried chicken. Much healthier.

Plus if you go to the extent of making the mince out of real steak, you get even better quality than any burger you can buy anywhere.

Can you guys suggest alternatives, it doesn't have to be a copy but I'd like something that isn't unhealthy, I'd like to think I'm a decent cook I know my way around the kitchen but rather than searching for recipes that probably don't taste good I'd like some suggestions that you guys have had experience with.

There's a series of books that you can get at your local Barnes and Noble called something to the effect of "Restaurant Secrets Revealed." They might be what you're looking for.
