I personally love to put chili powder in my hot chocolate, sometimes nutmeg and a touch of vanilla powder too.

The only two ingredients that enter my hot chocolates are milk and pure cocoa powder.

If I feel fancy, I'll add some small marshmallows.

Someday, I'll try the water/chili powder combination.

Sometimes I mix 3 parts cranberry juice and 1 part orange juice. It's pretty good.

I like the bars of granular-y Mexican chocolate for making hot chocolate. It's cinnamon, sugar and cocoa, all sort of ground up and mashed into a bar. You throw a chunk in the blender and dump it in a saucepan of hot milk, it's awesome.

Topping like >>1 seems Mexican taste to me.
But >>6 have already said that. haha.
