Well I am a prospective culinary student that is hopeing to go to culinary school, at the CIA in Hyde Park New York, are there any other culinary students or prospective student that are planning to go to a culinary school, and what got you interested in the culinary world? Who inspired you to cook?

For me it was my mom and my grandma, my dad did a bit but he wasnt around much.

Im like an hour away from there. I want to go SO BAD but I can't afford it. I've heard about government grants for people to go backto school though, so I might look into that.

Honestly? I had this insane impulse to make my simplistic cooking style into a living. So I took out some insane loans, maxed out my credit card, and started culinary school in the hopes that I could start paying off all that stuff as soon as I found a job.

It's been almost a half year since then, and I still don't have a job. But I'm not going to give up, because for once in my life I've got something I like to do and will continue to do despite the debt. Eventually I'll land a job, even a shitty job, and that'll help me continue to do it, and one day I'll be the best chef in town.

My major inspiration is the terrible food my mom cooks. I guess that's the opposite of an inspiration.
