Anyone played it, or something? I don't know what to make of this one. On the one hand, it looks pretty damn promising. On the other, reports from the demo weren't too favourable, and the last year of its development was in the hands of Akitoshi "Unlimited Fucking SaGa" Kawazu since the Vagrant Story guy mysteriously disappeared.
I was watching one of my friends in Korea play through it on his webcam and the game looks fucking awesome
He kept getting stuck at some part where you have to beat some giant creature within a certian amount of time, and all of his party kept dying and then when he would have one person left alive, it would say TIME UP and then show the Game Over screen
From what I've seen up to whatever part that was, it does look very fantastic

25 hours into the game in just 3 days, and thats with school and work! Its just that damn amazing.
Try not to base opinions on the game off the demo, after I played the demo I thought a little low of the game and expected a bit less, the game turned out to be simply awsome.
Gambit system can be annoying to program sometimes though, you can't make things too complicated but its really easy to program for just the simple commands like curing when you are at a certain % of HP etc.
I cleared now.
This was cool and nice.

The game looks pretty good. The battle system seems pretty interesting. I might rent the game. Anyways, I think it comes out in Sept...or around that time. But what I really want to play is FFXIII(all versions). :)
The full version is much different with the demo.

the LE version is in a Glass bottle, in like a potion like shape and comes with a card thing, i ended up with a Vaan card..
worth the money if you can buy, they wont be around long, just grab one and display or something or if your man enough drink it lol

There's no reason to drink it, that'll just decrease the ebay value in ten years from now. If you want to simulate the experience, get a can of Red Bull and piss in it.
Played it, finished it, not too impressed. The characters are ok, the story is not as enjoyable as other ff series but still ok and surprisingly for an ff series the music didn't impress me, better than ff10 but not that good either, I do enjoy the pretty graphics though.
Basically for me it's an average game.
the battle system is a bit lame but since im final fantasy fan im still buying this game.. cant wait.. （ ﾟДﾟ ）wwww!!!

At this point, Final Fantasy would probably work equally well by dropping the increasingly superfluous combat and presenting the story as a 3D visual novel.
Finished the jap version....
Good graphic as expected, battle system is more like a MMORPG (you kills what you see, no more encouter system)... and... you get to have the longest battle in RPG game. (took me 10+ hours)
This whole game reaks of vagrant story, the sounds, the battle system and the music. Even the character design. God
And it's probably is a propaganda tool to get more people to get married. :D
Its understandable that you'd read Vagrant Story in the game system. Same guy worked on both of them.

you can't save during the fight. What you CAN do is let the thing run for 10 hours and if you set up your AI just right you can go have a life. I think Squenix may have something here with the autobattles...now if they'd only set it up to actively hunt enemies, those damn sand people might be tolerable...
