Anyone else played this? It's pretty much the first worthwhile addition to the Bubble Bobble series in ages. There seems to be a certain Taito spirit that was missing for a while, but now it's back. Maybe I'm just talking out of my arse, I don't know, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.

no, it's more like an evolution. only it's actually good.

I would definitely think this is good news. Finally a Bubble Bobble game with new stuff.

I wonder why Taito decided to go back to the original name? It's more intuitive than "Bust-A-Move", which makes me think of a dancing game. Maybe they're going retro because it's different this time.

Another reason to be glad is Puzzle Fighter II coming to XBOX360 (but with seemingly few changes).

I think you're confusing Bubble Bobble and Puzzle Bobble. Bubble Bobble is the platform game, Puzzle Bobble is the puzzle-based spinoff that's also known as Bust-a-Move.

I liked what little I played of it on someone else's DS, but I think the whole swapping characters could get tedious in later levels.
