No more heroes
I like how its a satire on "EPIC" plots in general not just games.
But I still consider Killer7 as a better game despite the change from its original script . Cant wait for
Flower, Sun and Rain in October so I can get some sort of understanding of his Kill the Past series.

I beat Time Crisis III for the first time last week. I've beaten all the other games in the series several times. The second game is still my favorite I can almost one credit that game.

I beat Classic mode in brawl on the intensely hard difficulty

4 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-03-27 03:06 ID:KLpXulvU

>>1 I really saw No More Heroes as an analogy of the climb up the corporate ladder. It asked how far would you go to be number one, and even when you're number one, there will still be someone out there for your head.

5 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-03-27 04:27 ID:rb0tGlHI

I beat "The Game" by attaining a state of "Mu" where I saw only nothingness, mention of "The Game" was as to me as particles of sand flying through the wind - I became impervious, and through that virtue did I win "The Game".

6 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-03-27 04:42 ID:TJMmAUhf

I beat Lost via Dumbass in couple of hours and the ending was so horrible, but it made me LMAO!

7 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-04-01 03:18 ID:tXwuf2qD

I won a round of Unreal Tournament 3 and I think it's high time I was praised for my contribution.

8 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-04-01 15:01 ID:fElUOkdy

I beat Earthbound for the first time the other day. It rocked! I'd play it over again, but i have so many other games I have yet to wrap up.

. < Why would you feel like talking to a tiny black sesame seed like me?

Also I just finished my Dwarf Fortress game by going berserk in a town, eventually a Guard wielding a pike did this to me:

The Guard stabs You in the upper body with his Iron pike!
It is badly pierced!
Your right lung has been pierced!
Your heart has been pierced!
The Guard stabs You in the head with his Iron pike!
It is pierced through entirely!
You have beens truck down.

i always get killed by goblin children or what have you whenever i accidentally wander into their ruins.

12 Name: Anonymous Dwarf : 2008-04-03 21:31 ID:IJJ/4D+a

I'm pretty sure my last game got me killed by a giant cave spider. I had 130-or-so dwarves. God, that was hilarious.

13 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-04-05 01:11 ID:app/H9+/

Just finished BioShock.
Hardly an achievement though with that Vita-Chamber crap. (Some people argue that it's functionally equivalent to quickload/quicksave in other games, but it still feels kinda like the game is babying you.)

Just 1cc'd Imperishable Night on Normal, now to do it with more than just Reimu...

17 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-04-09 01:42 ID:M0kely38

I just recently beat No More Heroes myself.

I was expecting more of a mindfuck at the end, but I suppose it was trippy enough.

18 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-04-12 07:09 ID:tfsfC+2S

I beat Super Mario Galaxy a couple of days ago, though I only have 70 stars right now. It's funny, by the time the counter appeared on the deck, I was only one star away from opening the stage.

19 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-04-12 14:25 ID:Heaven

having only 70 stars does not equal "beating" in my book. 121 stars minimum.

20 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-04-13 13:34 ID:Heaven

I just beat Chibi Robo. It took quite some time to get all the stickers, particularly as I had fucked up and not completed a series of tasks earlier on.

I also played it a bit longer to see if it capped out at 9999 score. It doesn't, it goes to 10000. And it will take way too long to see if it caps out at 99999.

21 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-04-15 21:10 ID:23+G+JNZ

Beyond Good & Evil. Meh.

I'm playing Yume Nikki now but I'm not sure if it has an end.

22 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-04-18 03:20 ID:2hHI3pV/

>>21

It has an end, a rather fitting one I might add

23 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-04-18 15:07 ID:6/hTPRqw

just finished Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. I enjoyed it, although it wasn't scary most of the time. I enjoyed the Sanity Effects. it prolly would have been more scary had you less ways to defend yourself. I did make the game a little harder for myself though - i totally missed the Mantorok Rune, and somehow missed the Sapphire effigy, so the last boss was harder than it had to be. Hmm... what to finish next...

24 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-04-18 20:38 ID:23+G+JNZ

Assassin's Creed. The ending was terrible, probably because they plan a sequel.

Also Yume Nikki, my favorite part has to be the crash landing on Mars(?).

25 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-04-19 18:31 ID:8zNnQxkA

Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core on PSP. Not all that, only bother with it if you are a big FF fag.

I finished Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Being used to 2D Zeldas it definitely took some adjustment, but I ended up having a lot of fun in the end.

Now I have Wind Waker and Twilight Princess to get through. (and Majora's Mask, if that's ever released on VC)

Good game. Made me cry in parts.

39 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-05-12 08:56 ID:KLpXulvU

Yes. I agree and would say more but spoilers and such. Twilight Princess also ranks up there for cool-looking endings IMO.

Call of Duty 4 in vet mode.

I just finished beating my meat in "oh shit I think I hear my mom coming" mode

61 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-06-15 21:15 ID:FI/ajg0S

Finished Metal Gear Solid 4,

The Story is ok, although the Bosses sucked ass. VERY cheesy (even for kojima), and retarded easy. Plus they weren't all that interesting, except when we got a good look of their asses (the bosses are all female). The Shed skinning thing becomes repetive and well..the bosses SUCK!

(Spoilers AHEAD!)

The Ending was beautiful, i always suspected Big Boss felt dead inside when he killed the Boss..and guess i was right. The son&Father reunion reminds me of Star Wars's Darth&Luke. Big Boss finally gets his redemption, and IMHO it was him that was the star of the saga. Damn, i was shocked and very emotionally to see him again..although his resurrection is weird, but seeing how nano techonology gave Vamp a healing factory,it's not that far fetched.

I'm glad i got to see Big Boss again, since Snake Eater is def my favorite and well, all i can say is. R.I.P.

And to Snake, I hope i don't see your ass again in MGS5, your fight is over!

To Hideo Kojima, you really played everyone into thinking there was another Snake Clone:), damn you camo!:p

It feels really good to finish the saga, i've waited for a looong time and now..Well, there is an emptiness, a longing for another saga..but deep down i know there won't be one like Metal Gear.

Sorry,but MGS deserves a text o page!

62 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-06-16 11:07 ID:Heaven

i think ill add MGS4 to my overhypedgame list
...
GTA3
GTA4
ASSASSINS CREED
NO MORE HEROES
and
MGS4

>>62 yeah mgs4 was def overhyped, same with GTA4 etc etc

Finished MGS4.
It beat MGS2 as my favorite Kojima game and it's definitely up there on my all-time favorites list.
I think I'm going to go replay the entire series now.

65 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-06-17 03:40 ID:C7xStVQQ

And I was playing the pc version.

66 Name: EFRUCHT : 2008-06-23 14:07 ID:FD6Z/iZz

I just beat Condemned 2: Bloodshot two weeks ago.
Horror FPS is my favorite genre so Con kept me on the edge of my seat until the somewhat dissapointing conclusion. I really hope that the focus remains on the creepy/dark horror sequences, because the end of the game focused on gunplay and it was not up to snuff with the opening levels.

67 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-06-24 21:34 ID:us9FUfxy

I finished Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Ahm and Throne of Bhaal for the first time. (Yeah, old games, I know...) I manged to convert Sarevok to Chaotic Good, but somehow I failed to convert Viconia to True Neutral. spoilers ahead... I'm sort of dissatisfied with Viconia's romance epilogue. I mean, she just died from some poison. You'd figure that her death would at very least be something more dramatic than dying from some dumb poison administered by a servant of Lolth. end spoilers

By the way, I played a Kensai/Mage Neutral Good Human male.

68 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-06-26 01:52 ID:Heaven

I beat Halo: Combat Evolved. Halo is lucky that it's gameplay is fun and fast because the story is as dumb as rocks.

69 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-06-27 22:29 ID:FBRoFpHO

Elite Beat Agents on normal. The last few levels of normal mode of EBA felt like the hard mode levels of Ouendan 1 & 2, because in most of them you're pretty much fucked for the whole song if you get under 50% even once. Funny, you'd expect it to be other way around.

These games really need a training mode. When you're just trying to pass a song and don't care to score, it's boring to redo 2 minutes you know perfectly just to get a chance to figure out a complex pattern that can make you insta-fail the song if you don't grasp it fast enough, which means you have to hit youtube to get a chance to analyze the trickiest ones.

Mass Effect.

Quite nice game, should have played it on the hardest difficulty, Biotics, Tech abilities and pretty much teammates were kinda useless, I just shot everyone with a pistol.. It has a decent replayability, so maybe I will.

73 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-07-07 20:41 ID:FI/ajg0S

Finished Fallout 1 & 2, i don't get what the big deal is..sure both are great games but to call it the best rpgs ever with a great character development is going tooooo far.

Thanks to the holidays I've recently finished a lot of games. At the moment though I think I'm most proud of finally crushing God of War II on Titan Mode. Theres nothing quite like an active cutscene gorefest to celebrate the defeat of a boss that has been fustrating you for well over a year.

79 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-07-28 23:04 ID:3xDbgr94

I beat Super Mario Galaxy yesterday. Man what a fun ride that was to beat. =)

I'm still playing through, but I doubt I'll ever get all 121 Stars (or even 120 honestly). It's just a matter of time before I give up and start playing Zelda.

80 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-07-29 07:11 ID:BLc2A6xj

Been playing Unreal 2 and World in Conflict side by side.

Unreal 2 was great fun as ever. The way the story is written makes you come to quite like the characters, so when your ship gets blown up and all your friends die, it makes me baw. Even more so when you're drifting through space in an escape pod listening to their final message.

World in Conflict - great storyline, and the gameplay is hella fun. ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG TANK SPAM HOLY SHIT LOOK AT THOSE EXPLOSIONS THAT WAS COOL WOW YOU ARE THE GREATEST GAME EVER.

Then you play it online and the amazingness is doubled by the fact that the ground can be cratered and every weapon is available. Nothing more beautiful than seeing your own men blasted to shreds by a fuel-air bomb.

Persona 3

that game took a long time- I still haven't managed to get through the other 4-7 games- I should go back to playing back-ups.

93 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-09-08 14:31 ID:6/hTPRqw

phew! after like 60 hours of play (a few hours i had to leave it running for while i was busy) I finally managed to beat Disgaea 2 after staying up for hour last night...

I was kinda cheap with the last boss - i got the most useless character i had out to lift him up after everyone else had attacked. this robbed him of his turn, but only resulted in my losing ONE man instead of like 3 every time.

then again, being cheap is kinda the way to play in Disgaea games. Man some of those stages were imaginative and there were lots of ways to go about beating a map. I started to love my mages, let me tell you.

I managed to finish Half-life 2, hl2 ep 1, and hl2 ep 2, and portal, and went through all again with commentary.

Man, those games rock.

<troll>
I found a secret in Half-Life 2, though. When you pick things up with the gravity gun, you can launch things at the enemies andthey'll take damage! I don't know if Valve saw this bug yet or not, but it's kinda game breaking since you don't need guns anymore...

Izuna: legend of the unemployed ninja.

it was okay, but not enough depth or complexity. I wouldn't buy the next one, because I think they're just adding more work instead of fun, to be honest.

I get annoyed when these sorts of games seem to replace complexity with cheap tricks to make the game harder.

I guess I really just want a good ol' graphical roguelike for a change. God, if someone had a I.V.A.N. or T.O.M.E. or netHack or even Dungeon Crawl on the Ds, I'd be a happy man.

103 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-10-31 03:18 ID:KLpXulvU

Finished Little Big Planet's single player mode. I can't lie, I had fun with it but it was pretty short. I really don't have much interest in making my own stages to be honest so I'll have to rely on playing with any friends who have this to get any more replay value out of this.

Maxis' Spore.. Cool game... nah this game is endless.. i reached the center of the galaxy and talked to steve, though, i think this marks the zenith of the game.. or maybe there's more to do here like exterminating the Grox???

Last games i finished with definite endings are bishoujo games, yume miru kusuri as the most recent.. these games dont feel like games to me, more like powerpoint presentations tahtn games, but since its called "bishoujo games", then these are "games" nevertheless..?

the last decent game i last played with definite ending is prince of persia 2 thrones..

Ace Attorney 4, after getting tired of waiting for a price drop. The 3D evidence was cool, but I was surprised they dropped the option of Presenting profiles as evidence. The writing is still strong, and the new characters are likeable. That last case though, it was good, but the computer gimmick came out of left field. It took some of the impact out of the ending.

Finally, after like 7 tries - I beat Star Ocean 2! to celebreate, I bumbed Final Fantasy XII to the top of my to-play list.

I feel like it wasn't a totally legitimate win though, because i gave Claude the Battle suit and Eternal Sphere, and a meteor ring and bunny shoes. I basically just got tired of energy nede.

really though - that game is freakin hard if you don't try to be a little cheap with it...

That game does get hard arbitrarily at the end. An underrated game overall.

Beat Dead Space on Normal. Really easy. Tried it on hard... much harder, I'm taking a break to try and actually finish Dragon Quest 8.

118 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-11-30 11:53 ID:KLpXulvU

Well I recently beat Infinite Undiscovery and now I'm trying to do the Seraphic Gate (extra dungeon.)

It really is an underrated game, the real time battles are fun.

119 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-12-01 01:19 ID:Heaven

Just beat Pong for the first time. That final boss battle with the tentacle raep machine was really troubling at first, but after a while its pattern became fairly obvious.

Overall, on a scale of one to ten, I'd give the game a nine. Sure, the graphics may be a little out of date, but the story remains timeless.

I just beat Fallout 3, I think I had the best karma ending. Great game!

121 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2008-12-03 00:14 ID:2sYd7WJd

Fallout 3, Best karma ^^

Dead Space, on Impossible. Military Suit, ftw.

Tomb Raider Underworld. What a pain in the ass.

Crysis Warhead. 100x times better than Crysis, 3x times shorter.

122 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-03-04 14:26 ID:6/hTPRqw

Just beat Super Paper Mario - when I started the game, I enjoyed the 3 Dimensions. About half-way/three-quarters I didn't really notice it, and thought the game was alright, but not the best - but then I thought about it some more. The game took me probably 30 hours to complete. For a platformer, that's phenomenal. I was never bored during this time, and there were always plenty of new mechanics and surprises. And I found that I was always going to 3D, just to see what I could find. It was rewarding. The Mimi stage was great, as well as the nerd stage. And during the Sammer Tourney, I always took the time to Tippi every char - even when the world was ending... Anyway, would totally play again.

I love how the Paper Mario 2, and Super Paper mario let you play the game after you're done, letting you see what's changed now that you've saved the world.

Just finished Phantasy Star Portable within 2 days of owning it...

I'm not sure if I wanna play til level 100 or not but I can't imagine it taking long to get there considering it was only 20 hours to get to 60.

Just beat Super Mario Galaxy after putting it down for some time. I haven't gotten all the stars, but I was rather impressed with going through the last stage and Bowser with no deaths.

Although form the story books and how it looked like peach's castle in the background, I would have thought Rosalina would have something to do with Peach.

While the story is generic, the gameplay is really damn fun. Very good game!

Just finished Summon NightL Swordcraft Story for the GBA. it was good, but over really fast - lots of replay value though if you had the time. I started playing the sequel, and instantly missed how quickly you could get great weapons in the original, and how easy knuckles and spears made the game...

Ys1 and getting close(r) to beating YS2.

Batman Return of the Joker (NES). Pretty fun, pretty tough, but still enjoyable.

Just beat Super Mario RPG for the first time. I've played it before on the old SNES, but then the data got erased. I was near the end of the game too... So I never got around to finishing it cause I didn't feel like playing through the entire game. Now years later, and with the help of emulation I was able to finish what I started years ago.

Gotta say, the ending was pretty damned lame, but whatever.

132 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-04-21 16:02 ID:6/hTPRqw

I finished a game called "Lord Monarch" for the PC. there's only 15 levels, but they get really complicated at the end.

I'm pretty sure only like me and 30 other people have seen the ending screen of this game, so I took a screenshot to remember my triumph for ever.

133 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-04-23 03:48 ID:ot1pfqfK

Megaman 1-4 on NES.
1 was fucking tough. Fuck Fireman.
2 was a letdown. It's not as good as most people say.
3 was great. Despite the weapons not being as good as 2, it was a perfect balance in toughness and enjoyment.
4 was also great. People don't give it enough credit.

Also, Final Fantasy II (US SNES version). That sucked. Zeromus was the only high point of the game and even he wasn't hard.

134 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-04-23 09:41 ID:ot1pfqfK

Just beat Megaman 5 and 6.

5 was... eh. It's the true same old, same old Megaman if there ever was one. Nothing stood out for me. Although the introduction of secret breakaway passages was kind of cool. I honestly like 2 better.
6 is my personal favorite. Although when I was younger, I never beat it due to one reason or another. Likely because I had gotten an SNES soon after and due to the way our TV worked and was positioned, I could only have one system set at a time for a certain period of time, which severly limited the games I played. As a result, I never beat it. When I got the MMAC on PS2, I was stuck on plant man's stage because the spring section kept killing me. Died for a few times this time, but I managed to get past it for once. The rest of the game was too easy after that. I beat the game with 9 lives and 9 e-tanks. What the hell? I've always wanted certain megaman games to be a tad easier, but 6 was ridiculously easy. I didn't even USE an E-tank. It's my favorite, but man, after finally beating it, it's what I would definitely call a beginner's Megaman game.

135 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-04-24 05:45 ID:ot1pfqfK

Shatterhand. Holy shit, that game was ambiguous without the instruction manual.

Just finished Star Ocean: First Departure. Oh my god that game was fun. Definitely worth picking up in my opinion. I just love the battle system. Now to the store to get Star Ocean: Second Evolution, even though I own the original PSX version.

>>133

Now go play Final Fantasy IV. Its a whole nother ball game. Don't play the GBA version. It was like a mashup of the two.

I've played the PS1 version, which I lost a few years back. From what I recall, it's more or less the same just harder, with more/less stuff depending on the circumstance.

138 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-04-25 07:51 ID:ot1pfqfK

Sonic the Hedgehog (Master System ver.). Considering the medium, it's an impressive piece of work. The controls could use a bit of fine tuning, but the music and and graphics were really fucking good (Sky Base Zone is a cool song and the Jungle area looks wonderful). I'm surprised they pulled off so much in such a little package. A shame it was so short and most of the robotnik bosses were easy as pie.

139 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-04-27 06:15 ID:ot1pfqfK

Ghosts n' Ghouls for Master system. Pretty cool and a bit different from most games in the series.

Just finished Devil May Cry 1. I'm playing the series in out of order, started with 4, than 3 and now 1. I know three is a prequel to the first one, so its alright.

I had fun playing it, but it felt way too short.

Just made it through Saints Row 2 100%

Also, Crysis on Delta. Damn tough aliens, but I made it! :3

Now working on making it through Serious Sam 1st Encounter on Mental difficulty. I guess it'll take a looong time.

143 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-04-30 04:21 ID:ot1pfqfK

Neutopia 1. That third to last boss was a pain in the ass and I barely beat the last one with pretty much "1 HP" left (Although, I'm not sure what I should call the fraction since it's not really "half" even though it is pictured that way).

On to Neutopia 2!

144 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-05-01 11:59 ID:ot1pfqfK

Donkey Kong GB/94.

Not that hard once you get backflipping and triple jumping down.

145 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-05-04 05:38 ID:XE+PqPR+

Just beat MadWorld today. Picked it up again to decide whether or not I would get rid of it (the controls were really giving me shit during the Mad Castle stage), and ended up playing it all the way to the final fight.

I have to say that I wasn't nearly as disappointed in the ending as I expected to be from reading other people's opinions. Still a bit confused by the story, though.

146 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-05-04 11:47 ID:ot1pfqfK

Twinbee 3 for the FC/NES. Eh, pretty tame and archaic compared to the later games.

147 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-05-12 14:18 ID:6/hTPRqw

I Just beat Final Fantasy Legend. I could have beaten it WAY long ago, but I thought the final "tower" was going to involve much more wandering around than it did. I got to the creator, and started my pwnage, (although my Monster apparently couldn't even TOUCH him for some lame reason.)

I got tired of trying, and Saw'd him to pieces. Good ending, but I already knew about it so it was kinda anti-climactic. What I wanna know is if anyone has ever Walked through walls in the cerator's room and seen if you could get into that door???

I'm going to bet it's just one of those prop doors that doesn't even do anything. Sort of like those chests you can't ever get to behind the shopkeeper's counter in nearly every RPG ever.

Even today though, I always think: "Those bastards probably put a second [best weapon that there's only one in the game of] in one of those chests."

Also, I just beat Metroid 2. A nice blend of 1 and Super, but damn did the music SUCK and so did the sound effects. I had to turn the volume off. Another thing that sucked was my end time. 3:10. 11 minutes away from bikini Samus. Although, it's my own fault for screwing around and missing jumps so much. Oh well.

I just beat Gear of War 2 in coop with a bro. In my humble opinion, the game was a great improvement over the first one, much better paced and it is appreciated that they at least attempted to give it a plot.

... and damn, poor Carmine.

I was kind of dissapointed too. The fight with the Avatar of Nix was so... easy. I was expecting it to start crushing me really hard at some point, but it just died. And that was the end of it. Maybe i was overprepared, or perhaps min/maxing in rpgs is too easy for me, i don't know.

The music was cool though.

161 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-06-05 01:57 ID:a1KKRm9a

Bahamut Lagoon on the SNES. Its so easy to break the game near the end. First off, one of your dragon's get infinite HP if you raise it right, and then when you can afford it, buy as many Magic Gins you can buy. Theres no penalty for using items, cause its not turn based, so if you run out of mana, just refill it and blast away in th same turn.

Also the princess is a whore.

Funny thing about this game is that even on the hardest difficulty, the final boss isn't that tough -- it just takes FOREVER to beat him.

I just bought Blacksite Area 51 the other day for tenbux, and beat it over the weekend. Ahh, I like a quick FPS every once in a while to relieve me from my RPGs.

Gotta say though, it was a buggy game. Be it mixed up event triggers, spawning with only one weapon, sounds not loading, or falling through the level - it'll be a while before I plan on picking it up again. Nothing to do after the game is done, either. Weren't that many diff kinds of enemies, and only a few different kinds of guns.

Add to that - The main "villain" was exactly a bad guy. I mean, one of your "teammates" basically tortured him for 3 years. He sais during the last battle "She kept me in a cage!" At the end map, she complains that the black siteprogram had full funding, no oversite, "nobody to tell them it was torture." I seriously wanted to turn to her and be like, "Are you fuckin' serious?"

Finally finished Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.

Overall I was left with a feeling that I had spent my time well. I never thought I was travelling around for no reason or wasting time. I wasn't as annoyed with the Ocean King's Temple as other people seemed to be, and actually was impressd with the last few floors because of how hard they were, and then how easy they became with all the items.

Still unsure if I'm going to get Spirit Tracks. From the looks of it, though, it looks like it's not a continuation of phantom hourglass, so the story could be good.

Just finisehd Disgaea 3. When I was fooling around in the Item World for a while, I inadvertently leveled up this totally awesome sword as well as Mao, thus rendering the rest of the story mode quite simple. I enjoyed the story, and all the new mechanics seem really well balanced. Tons of col features, and the ending is funny and disturbing... Poor Last Boss...

I had fun.

170 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-07-03 14:25 ID:dFhIk6L6

I just beat Soul Nomad & The World Eaters. It was a good game - tons of voice acting, hilarious characters, fun mechanics, easy min/maxing. And some plot twists that I sriously did not see coming at all. About halfway through the game I realised that use one squad was better than using many, had a 7 square squad filled with my hero in front, three archers in the middle, and two pyremages and a cleric in the back. I was simply untouchable. I was kinda lucky as that squad landed in a Hades room. that means, the more I use that squad on a map, the stronger they become until their stats double. 8000 potentiality squads would get annihilated in one hit. glorious. And how did such a badass game have such a happy ending? Demon path next.

171 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-07-10 05:42 ID:SdmKZgmx

172 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-07-11 21:15 ID:SWrv0nmu

Devil May Cry. I posted >>9 in the stuck thread, sort of gave up, switched to easy. Easy was... way too easy. I wish there was some kind of inbetween difficulty, it would be perfect for me. Playing through 2 now, might as well mention it since the normal mode is easier than 1's easy mode and at this rate I'll probably done in an hour.

173 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-08-31 20:37 ID:6/hTPRqw

Just beat Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2

It was fun - harder than the previous title, more character interactions (AND THANK THE GODS THEY ADDED SOME COLOUR), and a new game plus feature! I totally ignored swords and axes. Knuckles were way too good in the last game so they nerfed them in this one. Spears for air enemies, and drills for the stubborn defensive types. Some plot twists I did not see coming, too.

174 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-09-02 14:24 ID:6/hTPRqw

Finished Mirror's Edge. Some people say it's too short. I disagree - the game couldn't have been much longer or the gameplay would have gotten stale. I think they may have meant they wish the game's plot focused on something more... permanent. Making some kind of difference.

In any event, great fun - I always enjoyed mowing everyone down.

175 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-09-20 01:56 ID:a1KKRm9a

Touhou Imperishable Night. Its the first touhou game I ever played. Man I suck at it. I've only finished Easy mode with Reimu and Yukari. In Normal difficulty I do really good through the first 3 stages, but then I get owned by Marisa, and if I somehow beat her, Reisen Undongein Inaba finishes me off.

176 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-09-21 15:19 ID:IABh0ITn

Finished Batman: Arkham Asylum. One of the best games of the Dark Knight. The replaying value stands only in the Challenges of Fighting and Stealth, the story mode could be a little longer though.

177 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-09-22 18:37 ID:211GknT2

Imperishable Night is not a very friendly game for new players. It requires a lot of memorization of spell cards. I would suggest starting with a different game, Perfect Cherry Blossom would be my first suggestion, but I am biased in that regard. Perhaps you might like the Mountain of Faith/Subterranean Animism system better.

Also, my captcha was botchadge. olo.

Kind of want to pick it up used, but its so damn buggy.

Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days. Onto Persona.

180 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-10-10 21:37 ID:ozI6HnZO

I finished Tales of Hearts.

Took me forever, because although the story was great, going through the dungeons and even fighting bosses got really goddamn tedious about two thirds of the way through. I don't know how I used to get through so many JRPGs.

However it was worth it all for the line "Sorry to keep you waiting FOR TWO THOUSAND YEARS". What a dick. Also one scene made me cry harder than I think I have ever cried at a game before.

181 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-10-14 12:41 ID:tq66LqW8

After 24 hours of gametime, Demons Souls! It feels great to have beaten it.

182 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2009-10-18 10:15 ID:KLpXulvU

I beat Uncharted 2 in one sitting. It was a long 10 hour sitting but it was worth it. Highly recommended. I literally was so hooked I didn't even eat lunch or dinner as playtime started at 8am and ended at 6pm then took at stretch and came back to tinker with unlocks and a little multiplayer.

I actually scratched 2 games off my to-do list this week: Muramasa and House of the Dead: Overkill. I've done the 2nd endings on Muramasa and will probably go back to get the 3rd ending on both characters. The art and gameplay feel a lot better than Odin Sphere and the fact that you don't have to spend time grinding HP levels makes me very happy. Both Muramasa and Odin Sphere are some of my favorite games though as they manage to make me feel like a kid playing his SNES again.

Oh and HotD:Overkill has to have more cursing in it than any other movie, video game, or rap album I've ever heard.

I just finished Eat Lead: the return of Matt Hazard. Fun times, and the pistols were probably the best weapons because they killed instantly with headshots. I liked how the skirt guns worked best on the soak'em guys. But those damned space marines... Anyway, the only annoying part was the final final area where you had a whole crapload of player-characters spawning at the end. It was really freakin hard to kill them all without getting a instantly fatal shot out of nowhere.

Anyway, also bought and cheat-finished a few NES games - Abadox (HOW WOULD ANYONE FINISH THIS LEGITIMATELY!?), Astyanax (The strangest hit boxes I've EVER seen), and Amagon (Another one-hit-kill game, infinite power when transformed and infinite lives change the game from "throw at screen" to "playable. Good soundtrack.)

Ring of red: Graphics strike a chord with me, story bleh, characters bleh, missions groan, gameplay ULTROS WIN.

Okage: Graphics/animations lame, art good, gameplay alright, story interesting, heroes amusing, humour ULTROS WIN.

Reinstalled recently, and just got through Kotor 2. That game was pretty awesome the first time I played it (when it came out) and it's still good, and I'm actually playing through it again with a new character, but damn obsidian left so much content out, and there are so many glitches that they never even bothered to fix, I feel like I should write them a very stern letter.

I'm all about the unfinished games, since rpg developers are wont to release games that aren't ready for release yet, but only if the cockbreath creators FIX it with patches later on. Needless to say,

Obsidian gets a big black mark next to their name for this.

I'm glad there's so many mods for it though, or it wouldn't be worth playing. Actually, I'm most glad for the 'skip peragus' mod, because, for pete's sake, it gets just a little boring to go through all that pointless shit over and over again.

197 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2010-02-01 14:15 ID:6/hTPRqw

That's the ONE thing I like about PC gaming over console gaming - mods can make the games either better things, or simply make them much more enjoyable.

Just finished the Half-Life mod "Paranoid". If the friendly AI was a little better, and the game longer (a lot longer- since it was just a short mod, after all), it could be made into a pretty decent game.

Been playing White Knight Chronicles a ton the past week. I really really enjoy this game despite it's pretty obvious problems. Finished story mode and I was a bit disappointed that by the time the story actually got interesting it ended, but it's supposed to be a trilogy so that wasn't too much of a surprise. The online mode is pretty fun as well so I'll probably clock a lot of time on it before I actually stop playing.

202 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2010-02-24 20:14 ID:2jAQ2uRa

Just finished Hitman 2.

Completely awesome.

It wasn't one of those 10 hour shmups that developers have been cranking out these past few years.

The story was OK (not great, but there was nothing wrong with it really), and the levels are multipath. You can choose from generally 2 or 3 ways to kill any given target. You can also choose whether or not to use stealth, etc.

Really great. And a lot of replay value of course, since there are different difficulty levels and different ways to proceed through levels.

It was one of those games you can get lost in and play for a whole day without even blinking. So much win...

**Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Single Player for that game was wicked. I wasn't expecting much, it IS a Battlefield game after all. But now that I wrapped it up after about 10 hours, I noticed that it lasted me twice as long, I had pretty much more fun and looks better than Modern Warfare 2.

It was also 10 bucks cheaper, and it's multiplayer kicks ass.

**Mass Effect 2

Best game ever. Period. (At least for me)

And yah, Mordin died on me too. No spoilers there though.

**Saints Row 2

Beats GTA IV ass any day. Sure, it runs fucking slow and is the worse optimized port in existence, but is oodles more fun and customizable.

Just beat street fighter the original by capcom (psp version on capcom collection)

first fights up to thailand (adon, then sagat) took me less than 2 hours.

Adon took me 3 days of on and off playing

Sagat took me a solid week of on and off playing
fuck capcom's sagat design and his cheezy ai. i raged. then flipped off my psp when i beat him.

then raged again at the lack of an ending.

Just finished Contact. I thought I liked it, until I read a negative review that pointed out some of the flaws of the game, and I couldn't quite disagree. I think maybe if I played the game in a shorter span of time, it might be better, story wise.

Gameplay was fun, but it annoyed me that the game doesn't really expect you to level up your clothes until after you've finished it. I didn't unlock more than the second skill in any of the clothes before I finished the game.

Don't bother. You only get a slight increase, like 10 or 100 units of adam.

I just finished the Chzo Mythos series of games. They're 4 independent point-and-click adventure games with a mystery/horror setting. The series was pretty cool, though the end posed more questions than it answered in my opinion. They each take about two hours to finish, but I recommend replaying the game with commentary on after you finish them. The commentary answers a lot of questions.

You can download them all for free at http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/games.htm

7 Days a Skeptic
Trilby's Notes
6 Days a Sacrifice

Beat Fire Fight, in so far as completing all the missions on normal difficulty without getting 100% scores on everything. Was OK, but not the greatest game. The dialogues tended to give me the nagging impression that I might be playing as the bad guy, and the end text seems like it's up for interpretation rather than doing much to confirm or deny that.

I guess I'll try to do challenge mode / 100% completion some time, but a look on GameFAQs doesn't indicate any alternate ending for doing so, so for now I'm shelving it. Moving on to Hellbender next I guess.

Recently finished San Andreas on the xbox. I remember playing it on the ps2 and having a blast and xbox converion is even better. It has better controls with the aircrafts, cars, on foot, custom music-playlist, gnarly graphics (not as greatly improved as expected though), I don't think any story related changes were made. Over all a solid conversion of a GTA classic and a favorite of mine.

Now that the main story is finished I'm contemplating going for a 100% run. That's probably going to add another good 900 hours of gameplay.

I just finished Terranigma and oh boy was it fun. It's been a long time since I've played an offline game, I'm glad that I'm getting back into it. Cleared it in 18h40min at Lvl31. The thing that was kinda disappointing was that I accidentaly overleveled at some point so up until the last boss I basically one hitted every mob and killed every boss in 1 - 3 minutes tops. The last boss was kinda harsh if you don't know what to do at first and the final form battle was also really long for a change, I liked it. I can't put my feeling into words properly, if you haven't played that game you definetely should.

Uncharted 1
Awful game, I've held out for 10 years until I finally bought a playstation to play this game and it sucked. I went into it expecting it to focus more on exploration but instead I got a boring shooting gallery. I'll be honest, I didn't know that there was any supernatural stuff in the series so when some zombies appeared I was surprised and mad because it felt like such a cheap out.
Overall I enjoyed what little puzzles and exploration there was but the game was so heavily dragged down by boring, generic shooting that I can't ever see myself playing it again.

276 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2018-12-11 13:37 ID:35F0aEwD

Uncharted 2
Against my better judgement I decided to play the next game in the series. I was told that it was a better game than the first but I honestly think I liked it less. The set pieces were cool but the shooting was so generic and boring. I hated the moment when it would throw me into a shooting gallery because it immediately slows down the game and it ruins the entire pace of whatever action was going on before. The story involves a generic Russian bad guy looking for ultimate power which I can forgive because it came out in the height of every game having Russians as the bad guy but they just made him a comically evil person who had no redeeming qualities and I couldn’t care less about the stakes of the story.
I don’t think these games are for me and I probably won’t play the last two games since I don’t expect some radically different games that will blow my mind.

Nier Automata
I'm glad I got to experience the story as I did, and I'm also glad that I was able to look up all of the different endings without having to go through all of the different shit to get them. Especially the true end. I feel bad for the characters, but Platinum did a great job. I will have to look into their other games that are on PC because the gameplay was cool and the story kept me from drifting away to other games. The plot twists were definitely my favorite part.

Super Lovely Planet, and Lovely Planet 2
Cute little games that get progressively more difficult. The music never fails to be nice, and the amount of precision the games require makes them fun. I even get some recorded world records on some of the levels! I'm sure someone's beaten them by now but it's the first time I've done anything like that, so that was exciting. I couldn't beat the original Lovely Planet though, that game was just too hard towards the end. I think I got to like level 5-20 or something before I gave up.

Beat Hexen a little while ago
I thought it was good overall but my opinion of it gets worse as the game goes on, especially once I started Death Kings of the Dark Citadel expansion. Even in the main game, I was hoping for an end by the 3rd hub and it just keeps going, there are some good levels afterwards but the 4 just feels like filler. I beat the main game with the fighter easily enough but made the mistake of trying the expansion with the mage, his ice magic is fucking garbage and it takes a long time until you get his good weapon.
I liked Heretic more at this point. At least you get more than 4 weapons at a time.

Finally got around to playing the 2013 Tomb Raider a couple months ago. The hunting mechanic felt tacked on, and the "run from cover to cover while shooting an army of bad guys" sequences were annoying, but overall it was an enjoyable game.

The last six weeks have been all about Monster Hunter: World. Started the DLC Iceborne a few days ago and I feel like the jump from High to Master is way more difficult than the jump from Low to High.

> mage, his ice magic is fucking garbage and it takes a long time until you get his good weapon.

Get close to enemies and chill touch them. Counter-intuitive but it works best that way.
Wand is slow to kill things, but pretty effective in larger areas against groups.

Addendum, also his Flechettes slay if you know how to use them. Their explosions are shield-piercing (read: hits centaurs and heresiarchs even when they're guarding).

Really a big part of sucking at Hexen or thinking Hexen sucks is down to not using the items or not using them correctly (won't defend some of the more obtuse puzzle designs tho).

after a half year pause (initially interrupted by disco elysium) I finished sekiro, i was already pretty far so I only needed to do the divine dragon, demon of hatred and final boss, I am glad i pulled through, I watched a guide video for the last boss but it didn't help me whatsoever so I just made my own "strategy" which was mostly dodge to the right in phase one and then dodge to the left in phase two, phase three was praying that he does the lightning often so I can punish hard
a friend gave me shit for not learning to parry him but i already unlearned most of it due to the passage of time and frankly was never good at it to begin with so I just used whatever approach seemed natural to me, just because it's a sword fight doesn't mean your legs stop working, foot work, left right, POW right in the kisser

I wish they would've given the mage the thrown flechette instead of the fighter, getting close to enemies to use the dropped flechette is just a rough spot, and the ice magic even at close range isn't too great. The fighter could've worked with the dropped flechette a lot better than the mage.
Also, fuck the slaughtaurs. Annoying blocking that can reflect all but ripper projectiles, ranged attack that they can do instantly from block, looks exactly like the chump cenataur. And their everywhere in the first few DK maps like they common fodder when they are more tedious to deal with than just about any enemy in the game.

I understand why they did the flechettes that way from a theming perspective, with the mage effect being a carry-over from Heretic's timebomb where Heretic had a more magely protagonist, but that's an interesting take gameplay-wise. Hexen II had its closest mage analogue (the Necromancer) lay explosives more like a seeker mine, and the even closer mage analogue from the expansion (the Demoness) threw them as gas grenades.

Beat Monster Bash, not for the first time, but for some good Halloween season nostalgia.

Somewhat tough game, especially that swamp section in episode 3 with the moving platform jumps. Count Chuck is a pussy though.

Mega Man for DOS. Weirdly short and features Dr. "Wiley" (not that the console entries have ever been 100% consistent on spellings either...) but not as bad as people say.

And Mega Man 3 for DOS (there was no DOS MM2 apparently). This one's more substantial, but most of the bosses are major pussies. It's alright.

I beat Gex 64: Enter the Gecko. 100%. All remotes. The game sucks, but it holds a special place in my heart for nostalgic reasons. I owned it on the PC and rented it on the 64 a lot as a kid, because for whatever reason I didn't care that the game was on two platforms. The game really sucks. Don't play it. But if you like good bad games, it's a good bad game. The PC version is better, cutscenes and voiceacting wise, and there were a decent number of levels cut from the N64 version. I'd like to track it down and play it on my new windows 98 PC i'm building. But I can't find any copies of a physical disk anywhere in the entire world. I wonder what happened to my disk as a child? Where does this stuff go? How did I lose it? At what point in my life did I stop caring about the wise cracking gecko? At what point did I forget he existed? And why did I remember that I forgot he existed?

>>296,297 I can respect this. I've been wanting to try DOS Mega Man for a while.

Industrial Killers, a weird-ass FPS that was apparently built as a demo to showcase Pie In The Sky's 3D game creation system. Took me several tries to get the hang of it as the starting level is decidedly newbie unfriendly (it's not hard to miss out on the machine gun and if you do that's pretty much a death sentence).

The engine has some interesting/promising features it seems like, stuff you wouldn't find in Doom even though some other aspects of the engine are more primitive than that (most annoyingly, no control remapping). The game doesn't make the best use of them though and has a certain nonsensical quality to it which I have mixed feelings about. The ending is also bizarre and made me wonder if I'd done something wrong somewhere along the way, and the game as a whole was pretty short.

Pass unless you have a fetish for weird and lesser-known 2.5D games like I do.

Marathoned Commander Keen, including the fan-made third trilogy which I'd never played before. They're pretty well done, although 7 may be the weakest one in so far as it's the one where it's easiest to see what old enemies were skinned over to make the new ones.

Duke Nukem 2. Beat it for the first time after only having ever played the shareware episode and a little bit of episode 2. Played on easy mode this time though as the item and enemy placement tends to be more than a little trollish.

I'm still inclined to say the original Duke "Nukum" was more fun despite the sequel's added glitz and gimmicks.

Just finished Pikmin 1 on the GameCube. Really great game, loved micromanaging all the Pikmin to do different tasks at the same time. Loved planning routes and figuring everything out. Though the game itself was a little on the short side. I'm looking forward to trying Pikmin 2 next once I get some free time.

Beat Black Mesa. Although it looks just slightly too modern for the engine (it's not quite "HL1 with HL2 graphics" but rather "HL1 with modern graphics), and it diverges from the original in some parts, it's still a very high-quality reinterpretation of the original game.

Played through Black Crypt and ShadowCaster, first time beating either (though I'd played some of ShadowCaster before). As a big fan of the Heretic and Hexen series this was kind of a pilgrimage type thing for me.

Black Crypt was pretty good for what it was (a Dungeon Master/Eye of the Beholder follower) and most of the annoyances in it were par for the course for that type of game (inventory management juggling and the like). I do have to give it points off for having one place where you can fuck over the triggers and make a section unwinnable, which necessitated going back to an old save and redoing some stuff. Aside from that, pretty cool creature/environment/lore designs. As an Amiga game it might be a bit of a pain in the ass to emulate, your best bet is probably to grab TheCompany's repack for painless running, if you're on Windows.

ShadowCaster on the other hand had great concepts, like being able to shapeshift into various cool creatures as you progress, but felt like a showcase in game engine growing pains. Part of it tries to be like Wolf 3-D and the other part tries to be like the earlier dungeon crawlers and it results in this clunky hybrid that's not great at either, with dull combat, annoying inventory management, and even more annoying regen mechanics (the official hint book even suggests parking yourself somewhere safe and going AFK to regenerate as a legitimate strategy, FFS). It's also kind of a letdown that despite having a fully functional hub system (that remembers things that changed around the map, unlike the one in the Catacomb games that reset on every visit) they didn't implement more Metroidvania style stuff. Would have been cool if you could, for instance, go back and explore the lake in the early levels once you had the Kahpa form to swim around in. The CD version does add a couple levels that put some of the niche powers to more use, but at the tradeoff of switching the nicely illustrated intro/ending animations for awkward 3D rendered ones. The CD version also has, through no fault of its own, an issue running in DOSBox because the dumbshit DOSBox devs broke it and then never fixed it so you have to use v0.73 of DOSBox instead. The end boss is also a joke, even more than Korax from Hexen is, just turn into the Grost and punch the living fuck out of him. You'll take damage sure but at full health and with the protection amulet he'll die before you do. I usually sneer at game reboots, but this is one that I think could actually benefit from a do-over.

Finished 車輪の国、向日葵の少女. Felt a bit of everything. Really good game, for once found something that doesn't feel like complete detached from reality escapism. It still is escapism though, and it's sweet.

I finished the original version of Fable: The Lost Chapters on PC. Yes, I have nostalgia for this game but I think it's still one of the best western RPGs, and the issues it has are very minor but some could be annoying to some. The biggest thing that stuck out to me positively was probably the attention to detail, it feels like almost everything, even inconsequential NPCs and objects have flavour text and voiced lines. It kind of feels like the same principle as Betheseda open worlds but instead of vast open spaces that feel almost procedurally generated, it's nearly the complete opposite where there are closed-off spaces that are heavily detailed. I also feel like the humour the series is known for is rather understated here, with a funny line here and there mostly as actual comic relief in cutscenes because of the serious nature of a lot of the storyline or in the optional flavour text. It's not overbearing and given how seedy and dangerous Albion is in the main story it would probably actually break the suspension of disbelief (this happens once, though, with the union jack underwear being a reference to the real world and unless you deliberately undress you see them during one of the most serious parts of the game).

It's not perfect though, the melee combat is rough on PC, at least until you get high-end gear and stats because you basically spam clicks which gets painful after a while. It kind of reminds me of how some people play diablo and its clones so unless you're gonna use a controller I'd recommend using Will or skill for most of the game until you can pour extra points into melee. Near the end of the game, melee combat feels visceral and satisfying, especially killing the minion enemies but until then it feels like Dynasty Warriors in that it feels you're beating people with sticks rather than swords. It's also obvious that it is designed for 1 on 1 combat and it can get clunky when you're fighting groups of enemies. Another thing that is solved by using Will.

Another issue is that when you're escorting people, the sometimes changing voices seems uncharacteristically unpolished and the cheering can be annoying, I get what they're going for though and the reputation system this comes from works well when you're running through settlements and the romance system feels a little half baked (although, maybe romance systems in games not specifically for it or just straight up H-games are inherently limited)

Overall, I enjoyed it a lot and I did a good/hero run, and I thought it was refreshing that you can be a knight in shining armour who marries a woman and has a humble cottage in his rural hometown with zero wink-wink-nudge-nudge/subversion and it kind of reminded me of Fallout New Vegas in that your actions directly affect the world, except it does address that a single person with this much influence would be a legendary figure.
I immediately bought Fable 2 and want to do an evil run and do the side content, but I feel like I have so many games to play/media to consume in general instead of just replaying the same game, but regardless I am glad the game is having a resurgence at least in the modding community. I definitely will be buying a physical copy though, especially since it is under $10!

Onto Diablo II and Quake remakes for the Switch.

>>74 Ah, I really liked it, I think it's maybe one of my favourite Final Fantasys. I cheated though, early on there's a cave with a more difficult route that you come back to later, but you can sprint through up to the back to find a chest with a Deathbringer sword. I did that 6 times so I had one for each character. It has a chance of instant death on hit, with your whole party attacking with these it usually killed nearly every enemy within 10 hits!

It was the old version too where you could fill every character's skill board thing the same rather than different job classes

Finished Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel on the PS4 Handsome Collection. I liked it more than the first one. I'm a dumbass and thought the cross-save feature meant I could continue Borderlands 2 with my Pre-Sequel character, so I spent a bit of extra pointless grinding time after the last boss. Maybe I'll play the New Game+ one day, probably not. One annoying thing compared to the first one is how you can only fast travel to certain places, even though the machines are everywhere, so sometimes I had to try and work out where to walk.

I finished Borderlands 2 the other day, so I played 1, Pre-Sequel and 2 in a row. They were okay. When I was finishing 1, my friend said they were all the same game, and I see what he meant when I got into 2, I think I liked the PS the best for that reason, the lunar setting with low gravity and ground pounds made it a bit more interesting. Overall I found all the characters annoying and kinda couldn't wait to get it over with, but all I was looking for was a fun non-realistic FPS so I got what I wanted I guess :) Probably won't play 3 unless I get it super cheap in a few years.

After I finished BL2 I finished Wattam, I got halfway through last year and it fell by the wayside. It's very nice though, I love the characters and sounds. The story too, I felt it was like Katamari in that on the surface it seems like a wacky Japanese game with random humour, but there's kind of a deep feeling there, makes you think about the world and how it works and all the people and things in it. Kind of a spiritual Zen feeling or something

I would have got the Platinum trophy if I'd known about keeping the Snowman safe! If you're going to play it, apparently you should eat the Snowman as soon as you can to turn him into fruit, which stops him melting.

Finished Flipon and Iwaihime.

Flipon was a lot of fun. Basically a modern reskin of Tetris Attack/Panel de Pon, which I had not had the pleasure of playing before. I only played the single player campaign (which is my definition of "finished" here) but I do want to try out the multiplayer sometime if I can convince my tetris rival to give it a go

Honestly, a bit let down by Iwaihime. Started with some great denpa but devolved into boring slice of life, kind of like a reversed version of Ryukishi's normal formula. The end was not satisfying at all despite the very strong opening which is a much bigger problem than the inverse. Reminded me of Yume Miru Kusuri.

I beat Unreal on hard. It's pretty good. I tried playing a bit of the expansion though and I couldn't stick to it

The one from 1998. It was also sold as Unreal Gold until Epic pulled it from every store.

Finally got the secret ending on the "Galaxy Battle" scenario in DBZ BT3, took me two days of trying.

Finished Borderlands 3 a couple of weeks ago. I have finished 1, 2, the Pre-Sequel and now 3, got them all for a tenner altogether, and finished them in a year. Didn't really like them. It was a kinda fun FPS but it kept trying to be funny, and it was really not funny. I hated all the characters. I like Tiny Tina more in 3, she was really annoying in the other ones. Most of the missions are “Go to this place, kill everyone and bring me back the thing” then you give them the thing and stand around while the characters talk to each other. I spent all that time shooting them in the face, but they don't take damage.

I finished Raging Loop. It was great, even if it did <a href=https://4-ch.net/games/kareha.pl/1273851992/168>jump the shark, and do a few backflips</a>. Very evocative of Uchikoishi nonsense and feels like it could one day be the progenitor for a nasuverse-style connected universe... but seems like it wasn't so well received in to get the support for many sequels.

Finished Ghost Trick: phantom detective on my 3DS just now
It was a lot of fun, it's a puzzle game but primarily a mystery kind of visual novel I guess? It's not very long but was fun to go through, many twists and turns in the story

I don't have a switch, but it got an HD rerelease on switch a few months ago, which is cool too

I also finished MGS1 a couple weeks ago on my PSP, fun game.
The boss battles where very interesting my favourite was psycho mantis,
where he makes the first person view mode take his perspective, and you
use it to locate him.
The stealth mechanics where a bit dated but the game doesn't overdo the
stealth sections.

I'm getting into playing Victoria 2 again. I'm not a fan of strategy games but this one was always a lot of fun. I just wish the devs had put more effort into China and Japan. I'm going to go for a Taiping Heavenly Kingdom run and see if I can unite Asia as Jesus' brother.

My brother lent me Spiderman on PS4. I was a bit underwhelmed tbh, but that's mainly because I hate superhero shit. Every line of dialogue made me go maan shut the fuck up... I found the facial animation quite unpleasant as well, especially Mary Jane. I skipped most of the cutscenes because they were so annoying. And there are points where they are having a lovers' argument by text message while you swing around the city, yeah that's really fun >_>
The swinging around the city and the combat were the fun parts, but they only really get fun towards the end when you upgrade your powers. At the start of the game, I felt like the Infamous games did those fun parts better. There is plenty of freedom to kill the bad guys in different ways, and it's fun stringing together flowing combos with ground and air attacks.
I think my favourite bits were when you webbed a bad guy to a wall or obstacle, and then that obstacle is a focal point in a following cutscene, so they appear tied-up and struggling blocking the view of the story XD
I got the platinum trophy then deleted the game.

I just finished a long 5 weeks game in subterfuge (RTS mobile game).
I decided I will play without any diplomacy, I would simply not talk to anyone, so I ended up in fourth place, despite the fact that those faggots (pretty much everyone was going after me) decided killing me was better than going after the player who was going to win, obviously because I didn't communicate with anyone. Trust is a big factor. The joke which is funny, none of them was able to kill me, despite the fact they were more capable than me, in fact in the end they were able to take all my outposts, and I was able to fly with my specialists and my queen to another outpost where I could settle until the end of the game, and just when I was doing this transfer the game ended.
It was fun because everyone was seething that I didn't say much.
