I saw that there's only one .hack// thread here and it's about .hack//frägment only so I thought 'let's create a general .hack// one!'
I also love the manga & anime series related to it.
The .hack// universe is just awesome, the idea itself is just really nice.
Wouldn't it be dope if cyberconnect2 would do a .hack// MMORPG together with GRAVITY?
Why are they too stupid to realize that this is what fans want...? I guess they could make alot of money with a MMORPG that's better than their .hack//frägment.

Did you beat the games?
.hack// on PSP, is it coming?
What are the future plans of cyberconnect2 and Project .hack//?

Thoughts or news on the game go in here please.

What I really liked about .hack was the way fields and dungeons were made. If they could bring a system like that out in a MMO I would be very pleased but chances are it's too late to release a .hack MMO anyway due to the fact that (imo at least) the MMO market is pretty saturated with MMORPGs.

On a side note, I'd like a .hack on PSP due to the fact I could run a dungeon real quick and turn it off when I'm done. I think it would work well with portables.

I love .hack//SIGN and .hack//ROOTS, but I hate the games with a passion.

i played the original .hack series (GU was never release in Europe, so i dunno about that) and the gameplay was starting to get really stale after the 2nd game... i only carried on playing for the story.

I somehow managed to watch the whole hack//sign anime just for the Kajiura soundtrack, but I have not built enough tolerance to boredom to check out the whole franchise.

You sure are missing out. .hack is one of those things that if you stick with them you will be rewarded when the entire thing all comes together in entirety in the end when all the agendas and conspiracies are revealed, and suddenly the whole story seems clear and this insane mastermindedly-created MASSIVE story is unveiled...and you're just like..."whoah."

I love .hack. However I have not finished completely seeing the story that has been released so far, I'm about to finish the whole storyline up to vol.2 of G.U., including the novels and multiple anime.

.hack is one of my most favorited stories ever created.

how can you tell us that when you didn't even finish the story?

>>11 is probably referring to the .hack//Infection series, but is saying they've not finished all of G.U. or the anime/manga, etc...

It's sad how popular SAO's gotten, while .hack's pretty much faded into obscurity. SAO games are pretty awful too.

IMOQ was good, GU was good, but good god, LINK was awful. Horribly repetitive, with that QTE hit-the-line battle system, and the characters weren't even the actual characters, just Aura's memories.

It's like they didn't know where to take the series after GU ended, and just kept throwing things at the wall. Quantum was solid, but the movie was really plain. Versus was pretty fun for what it was though, made that movie import worthwhile. The mobile games just feel like nothing efforts, and don't really capture the essence of .hack.

They should try a full console game again, make it episodic if they have to. Game "seasons" and season passes make that super easy now. Hopefully some of the money and clout CyberConnect gets from the Final Fantasy 7 remake could go into a new .hack. Bamco pls.

What were they even thinking with Link? And with a series full of great character designs, how'd they end up with generic shounen kid?

Not to mention the mobile games.

More mass-market appeal maybe? The entire art style of Link genericized quite a bit. Going from Yoshiyuki Sadamoto character designs to whatever Tokio was, it was such an incredible downgrade.

One of my favorite things about .hack is the meta stuff. Going behind the game, into weird, corrupted areas that just have a permeating sense of acidic wrongness to them. The mobile games totally lost that, and there's nothing else on the market that comes close in any way.

Holy shit yes, GU HD trilogy port with additional stuff announced. Can't wait to see what they add.

Well I'm glad .hack// hasn't been forgotten, but when are we getting a proper game!
I remember the character models in Versus were pretty cool, it'd be neat if the next game looked something like that.

Maybe try talking about games that aren't 20 years old. I keep hearing about this series but never took time to actually play. It sounds like sword art online before sword art online, something vr game something.

27 Name: Anonymous Gamer : 2022-01-01 21:56 ID:0fN+MHnL

>>26 lol the series is one of the best. personally i'd recommend at least watching the anime .hack//SIGN and .hack//roots because they're LITARALLY GOD TIER.
and the .hack games really manage to capture that early 2000s internet early mmo feel even if IMOQ does feel quite bare bones in comparison to modern RPGS but G.U. is really good even if u are one of those weirdos that cares so much... also did I mention the music is really good too???
