Games that are drastically improved by emulation (12)

I've been playing the GBC version of Dragon Warrior I&II on my DS recently, and it's really become apparent how much better this game (the first one at least) is with a speedup button; played on real hardware it's a tedious slog across the world map and through various uninteresting mazes. but emulated you can cut through the bullshit and it actually becomes quite fun! savestates help as well, then there's no danger of you accidentally losing a quicksave thanks to its retarded save system

any other old games that are like this?

Breath of Fire 1 and 2 for me. I fell in love with the speed up button on ZSNES. I found most RPG games can be more "intense" with a speed up.

Shadow of the Colossus.
That is if you have a good enough CPU to actually play it without stuttering sound or 5FPS.

Ocarina of Time looks really gorgeous on an emulator.
Its a huge improvement over the mirky graphics of an actual n64

Urm...I might be off topic in case of n64 and SNES emulations but would to say something about PSone games....

I use A PSone Emulation to play my old favorite game -SD Gundam G Generation series and it turns out to be better in my PC than the actual game play on my PSone!

I think every game for PS1 or an older system is drastically improved by emulation.

Ikaruga is great with emulation and the bullet hell gameplay is perfect for a keyboard.

>>6 but it's so hard to get some games to emulate properly, especially square ones.

...what exactly are you using as a Ps2 emulator?

Final Fantasy A2 would be a lot better on an emulator as the battles are really slow.

Persona 3 (and probably 4) will be like this once PS2 emulation becomes decent. All the needless loading between all the unskippable and slowly animated boring parts made me drop it.

high-res texture pack is sweet
