The Sony PSP (17)

I really, really want to get a PSP. I have no money, though, so I don't have one yet. I'm about to start a job, though, so I'll probably get one soon.

Games I'm thinking of: Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Daxter, Sid Meyer's Pirates, N+

I don't have much of an interest in turn-based RPG, which is why I like the action-style combat of Crisis Core, Daxter reminds me of the beauty that was Nintendo's old Rareware platformers, and Sid Meyer's Pirates looks just plain fun.

Thoughts? Condemnations?

Game suggestions?? :D

Don't get the newer model, it has interlacing problems with the display and you can't put custom firmware on it yet.

Lumines and Patapon were my favorite games for it so far

FFT if you never played the original
MGS Portable Ops is ok
Crisis Core is ok
Honestly, the best RPG I've played for it so far is Dungeon Maker
Also, nothin' beats custom firmware on PSP... do some research before you buy anything. You can't beat near-flawless portable emulation up to PSX plus all the free apps

If you are going to have custom firmware, please don't hard it, please. Soft modding is easier and safer.

Why would you buy a new PSP? The screen is shit.

so if it doesn't work, he has some recourse. Just buysing some console from the internet or a pawn shop is liable to end up with a brick.

At the moment, FF: Dissidia and DJMax Portable 2 are the only reasons I haven't sold my PSP. They are two excellent games.
