I love smoking.
Don't You!?

Smoking is obsolete.
Use a vaporizer.

SMOKING IS BAD

4 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-13 15:03 ID:Heaven

NO SMORKING

5 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-13 15:34 ID:Heaven

Mmm, cronchitis and cancer... Oooh, look at all that second hand smoke that pesters non-smokers indoors...

6 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-13 16:18 ID:Heaven

I prefer the sense of superiority I get from telling all the stupid smokers that they're stupid and they're going to die. NON SMOKERS NEVER GET CANCER. NON SMOKERS NEVER DIE.

7 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-13 16:32 ID:T1/wPA8+

A celebratory cigar every now and then (read: maybe 3/year) is enjoyable.

8 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-13 23:06 ID:KF6LvNEr

I hate it because most smokers have absolutely no courtesy towards nonsmokers and just start puffing away anywhere they darn well want. Some of us [like me] are allergic to tobacco smoke, and babies/children shouldn't be exposed to it. If smokers would go far away and downwind from everybody else or to a designated smoking area before lighting up, I'm sure they wouldn't be so looked down upon. I know not all are like that, but the majority are, unfortunately.
...plus most of them never dispose of the butts properly, tossing 'em wherever. Gee thanks for the 100+ acre brush fire, guys.

I bloody hope you're sarcastic and not that retarded. Especially considering the last line. I'd think you were, but sadly I have met that retarded "normal" people.
Non-smokers can get lung cancer via second hand smoking. All smokers are not automatically assholes, I've known plenty of decent people who happened to smoke and weren't jerks about it.

However, air pollution is air pollution. If someone would be continously screaming over and over again at e.g. 90 decibel in front of a door to a restaurant or university, don't you think that's a public disturbancy? That's the same thing as smoking in such places, especially when there are allergics and people with asthma.

mmmmmm cancer

13 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-16 18:07 ID:jr7nQNVj

non smokers can get lung cancer like everyone else, and not related to second hand smoke. it's just nature.

smoking increases the likelihood of getting cancerous cells multiplying unchecked...

quitting smoking after 10s of years of heavy smoking will increase the likelihood of getting a heart attack due to weight gain.

so, you young people should either try smoking just a few times, or never try. once you get hooked up, you'll lose your energy, your money, and maybe your life.

guaranteed yellow teeth though.

oh and, i'm hooked, and i enjoy my every cigarette :(

15 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-18 00:16 ID:M+hSTqtz

It's kind of bizzare how if you think of someone who smokes, you think of someone who smokes WAY TOO MUCH. Like for some reason you're either a pack-a-day chain-smoker or disgusted by cigarettes. I used to smoke maybe a pack a month. I haven't bought cigarettes in a long time but I still like to have one now and again if I'm offered one. I don't know why it's assumed there is no grey area between total abstinance and horrible addiction.

When it is said that smoking is extremely hazardous to your health, there is no qualifier for "smoking" to say exactly HOW MUCH smoking would be extremely hazardous. Of course heavy smoking is bad for you. But eating Hamburgers is extremely hazardous to your health if you eat TWENTY A DAY.

16 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-18 01:48 ID:Heaven

I don't smoke, but more because I just think it's gross rather than the health issues. Ever made out with a smoker? Disgusting.

17 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-18 05:01 ID:VdvaEFDV

I smoke and I do have courtesy toward non-smokers but I am awfully tired of finding less and less places to smoke. If I am going to smoke outside in public I find one of those places with the bench and ashtray that is out of the way of people. Now, they are getting rid of these ashtrays and benches and are banning outside public smoking in many areas. Last time I checked this was America and I was allowed to smoke outside!

I also hate how rude non-smokers are, the way they stare with such distaste. If they think my smoking is distastful they should learn some manners and realize how rude staring is.

Agreed, it seems that a lot of the people who'll tell you how rude smoking is are equally rude themselves. And of course rabid anti-smokers are endlessly annoying. If I die, feel as smug and justified as you want. Just leave me alone while I'm alive. Jesus wept. I don't go out of my way to annoy them, I'd appreciate it if they didn't go out of their way to annoy me.

I don't know what some people are trying to prove by being so against smoking. They act all superior, but often all they're doing is showing how smug and small minded they are. "You smoke? Hah, you're so pathetic and stupid. I will now disregard anything you might say that would show otherwise, because I already know I'm a better, smarter person than you." That sounds stupid, and really do I wish I were exaggerating, but I'm not.

I don't even smoke a lot, and I still get all this shit. I'm pretty much the same as >>15, actually, except I just stopped buying cigarettes recently, because I can't do with the extra expense right now.

Smokers are always in lack of oxygen.
Thats why all smokers are stupid.

I saw this video on YouTube once...it was a commercial. In it, this man starts smoking, and this woman says something like "If you want to smoke so bad, go to Japan!" So this man gets on a little boat, and goes to Japan, and ends up on the shore there crying "Japan!"

It was very funny. I wonder why Japanese continue to smoke so much, as it is such an unhealthy thing to do.

It is very funny. I wonder why Americans continue to eat so much junk food, as it is such an unhealthy thing to do.

It's not very funny at all. I wonder why Asians eat babies.

Stop trolling, Smoker/Retarded Non-Smoker.
I even have medical excuses for hating Smokers, and I don't hate them. A jerk is a jerk, whether or not he smokes. I've met plenty of considerate Smokers, and Non-Smokers. Whether they smoke has nothing to do with it.

26 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-19 12:11 ID:I/ZSuRm4

Smoking is unattractive. So many fobs at my school smoke. Sadly they do not know that it's not cool anymore.

27 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-20 02:13 ID:xoUIo8e/

smoking is soooo hot~<3

when I see a girl smoke, I can't help but stare, especially if they are asian, preferably korean or japanese...

moe~

I guess it is just the bad girl image, especially since I went to a school where it was mostly really studious asian girls, and to see them sneak outside for a cigarette.. they looked so ashamed, or some looked like 'fuck you, i don't care'

either way... hot~!

28 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-21 16:04 ID:QCbwlK9U

She might be hot outside. But her breath definetly stinks. That's not hot. If smoking causes no odor, I would agree.

29 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-21 16:55 ID:PYsJ2fHx

i am a freshman in college and several of my fob friends just started smoking... and they're all addicted. they smoke a pack a day. it's kinda sad, because several want to stop and they actually appreciate it when i come by (i have an allergy to smoke) so that they have to stop.
they're all really good about it (they go downwind and don't let the smoke go in windows) but it's sad...

i slept with a girl who smokes and i kind of liked the smell... it made her smell chemical-y,

hard to explain but it made her seem imperfect and therefore wonderful

31 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-22 16:44 ID:YMv25ACW

There's this girl that sits next to me in one of my classes that smoke. For some odd reason I really don't mind the smell.

32 Name: Anonymous : 2007-02-22 17:13 ID:yCIv0qiD

I do like the sensation that comes from the first cigarette had while intoxicated, but other than that, I hate smoking. Smoking is for smokers and smokers are losers in a half-shell. Occasionally I derive satisfaction from a hookah, but other than that, cigarette had while intoxicated, but other than that, I hate smoking. Namely peer pressure silly stuff fingers smell horrible money and tax.

Ugh, I hate it...the smell is awful and it rots your vocal cords. I'm a singer, so I'm terrified of ruining my voice- I've been known to walk over to smokers and make nasty remarks until they put out their cigarrette :p

I recently gave up smoking after smoking for about five years.

I think a lot of the people who are severely against smoking here just hate smokers cause the majority of people who beat them up (or still are beating them up)in high school smoked, and so now they associate smoking with being a complete prick. Granted that is a bit over the top but no more so than some of the anti-smoking statements here.

Smoking is bascally stupid, and inconsiderate smokers are wankers, but some people are quite over the top about it. Even though I would go to great pains to keep my smoke out of peoples faces, and would not smoke if it was not possible for me to not smoke near other people, I have had people like >>33 come up to me in the past just because they can see me smoking. Unless they give some legitimate reason (like the guy who is allergic to tobacco smoke) I would tell them to fuck off. And I have known no smoker, no matter how considerate, who would put their cigarette out for such a jerk.

You seem to be (or used to be) a very considerate smoker, which is great, and as a non-smoker I thank you.

The problem is people have wildly different ideas of what is 'bad'. For some people, like >>33, just smelling smoke is enough to set off warning bells. And I can kind of understand this, because if I've not been in a smoky environment for a while, and then smell smoke somewhere, it does feel as though it's drying my throat out a little bit. Whether it's dangerous or not, I don't know.

Personally, I wouldn't ask a smoker who is outside to stop smoking. Inside, if smoke was bothering me, I might ask them to stop. If they were smoking somewhere with a NO SMOKING sign, which seems to happen so much nowdays, I would definitely ask them to stop smoking, whether bothering me or not - because it's probably bothering someone else who is not confident enough to tell them to stop.

Again, the problem is that if someone was smoking outside RIGHT NEXT TO ME, and I couldn't easily move, I may still feel like asking them to stop. Then they'd be all "BUT JEEZ I'M OUTSIDE YOU NAZI." even though all of their smoke is -clearly- going in my face.

But that's just some smokers, the minority, I'm sure. =D

43 Name: Anonymous : 2007-03-09 15:43 ID:Heaven

I wouldn't be so sure considerate smokers are in the majority!
