Hi everyone! Maybe you will be able to help me a little...

You see, recently I moved into new apartment, the problem is that it's quite ugly and really needs some renovation. So here I am - searching for ideas and advices on interior design. Please note that it's a rather small apartment (though not as small as in Japan) and that I don't have piles of money laying around. Currently I'm just browsing normalroom.com and flickr.com.

So, lets talk about interior design, decoration, furniture, lifestyle and all that's related. Also, lets post pictures of our living spaces! I think it would be awesome to see how other 4-chners live.

Minimalist! Wouldn't have it any other way. At least that allows me to get the best of what I want without killing my budget. (Looks neat, too.)

Suggest you drop by a bookstore and flip through some dead trees on that topic for inspiration.

a mattress, a chair, and then just find a way to store the rest of your shit so that its out of your way but you can still get to it if you need it.

but i guess thats just for the master bedroom, you could technically spend money on a desk and a bedframe but the chair system is more hardcore.

cover the walls with processors and put a big-ass fan at one end of the room.
bonus points if it's actually a working computer.

Oh come on, minimalism is all good and nice, but lets not forget about style, comfort and usability.

I wouldn't suggest that, unless you're OK with never having sex...

I like to stick to simple, utilitarian furniture in general, with just a couple of things that look really good. When people pick out each item to look interesting, it gets kinda overwhelming, or maybe looks cluttered. And I don't liike having stuff that's not up against the wall, except perhaps a coffee table in the middle of a big lounge. I just like clean, open rooms.

Except... all my shelves and stuff are full, so I have piles of books and paper all over the floor, and other random objects that there's no room for. I suggest you avoid that, it's a pain in the ass. I'm too lazy (and poor) to get new shelves though.

Oh, I like lights as well. You can totally change a room with good lighting. And now I'm going to stop, 'cause I sound really gay.

No, you don't sound gay at all. I totally agree with you that lights are wery important. And "piles of books" always are interesting, I wish I had more of them.

Paint is one of the cheapest ways to change the look of a room. Just be careful not to use strong colors or you'll make the room look even smaller.

wardrobe/drawers are also required... unless youre actually a nudist. in which case, tits or gtfo

id like to have a nice simplified room, but the fact is i have too much stuff. i have too many university books that i need constant access to so i leave them out rather than putting them away, same for notepads, lecture notes etc. when i next move im going to get rid of a lot of stuff though, try taking just the bare essentials

I'm embarrassed about my living space. It's ugly and messy.

My living space is a bit messy because there are two or three pieces of furniture I have to keep in my room because there's no space for it elsewhere, including a desk and a treadmill that I never use. I have a walk-in closet, but I only have access to ten percent of it because that's where my grandma keeps most of her clothes. It's alright though, because the room is pretty big.

actually I have a living room and a bedroom to myself, the computer is located in the bedroom and is connected to the TV for anime, the bedroom has a small shelve and a drawer to store my stuff, the rest of my shit is all scattered on the ground. its covered with papers and books, Ihave to jump to reach the bed without stepping on anything, and the computer desk in the living room is one pile books , drinks and papers which has a lcd monitor standing on it.

Being mess really starting to cost me, ghaah
