Halp Cleaning Funnel (3)

I had fungus growing in my beer funnel, I had recently dug it up in my closet to clean it i poured bleach in and let it soak for awhile; then i used a sponge attached to a string and "squegee`d" through. The mold is all gone. Next we poured dish wash detergent through, let it soak. Now it smells like apples, finally we boiled water and let that soak and filter though. Is it safe to start using it? Or are there furthor cautions i need to take?

The bleach is enough to kill all the bacteria on it but it won't remove the mould and fungus from the funnel. You soaked it in detergent and boiled water. Your funnel sounds good now.

>>1, I think that /food/ or /science/ might get you more answers, but assuming that this is a plastic funnel, I think it ought to be good to go. You might want to pour more boiling water through it until it no longer smells of apples, though, lest the beer taste funny.
