I have been toying and researching the idea of teaching English in Asia, maybe Japan, China, or South Korea. Does anyone on 4-ch teach English in a foreign country and what was your experiences, good or bad?
BTW, I am an American with English as my primary language.

Seems quite fashionable there, and quite a few people know it so you could probably get by there with just English.
English is already an official language of Hong Kong, They don't need any native english speaking foreigners over there. I hear south Korea is pretty good, good pay in comparison to othe rocuntries and more job oppurtunities, just stay away from the north korea border, bad things might happen.

It may be an official language, but if you've ever been over there, you still see billboards of Western looking people giving English tuition plastered everywhere. Plus OP wouldn't be lost in translation if English is an official language. Which I might add, for those who speak it, their English is not that flash.
