Broken ballpoint pen, industrial size canister of chewing gun and a tablet PC, all jumbled together in a trashy Nike sports bag.

I'm somewhat afraid you're actually MacGuyver's protege and that you plan on using the broken pen and gum to do some really crazy stuff one of these.

Usually in my bag:

  • Thinkpad X220. The nicest computer I've ever owned.
  • Two binders. A blue one for work-related planning, and a black one for personal projects
  • A small spiral-bound notepad for quick thoughts. I hate writing on spiral-bound notebooks, but I don't use this thing enough for it to matter.
  • A wooden pencil on the verge of death. About a third of its original length, and lacking anything resembling an eraser.
  • A thoroughly mangled rubber eraser that can also be used as a stress reliever and a pencil stand.
  • The same Ti-83 Plus I've had since I was in middle school. Still has Tetris and Falldown, but sadly seems to have lost Galaxian over the years.

I really need to repair the left strap on my backpack, that thing is hanging on by a thread.

Usually in my pockets:

  • A fairly nice LG dumb phone from about 5 years ago. The body is mostly metal, so it's very sturdy; I've dropped it hard on asphalt once or twice, and it never missed a beat. It's served me very well over the years, but I'd like to upgrade to a smartphone soon. Being able to SSH from my phone would be very useful right now.
  • A Gorilla Tape (very durable black duct tape) wallet I made in middle school. Lacks such luxuries as pockets, but it does the job, as I never carry more than $20 cash with my debit card and license.
  • Keys

a couple toiletries, a book or two (non-fiction!!!), tiny old semi-functional mp3 player and sony MDR headphones for plane trips, some loose tobacco and cigarettes, and my wallets.

Question: What would you need more than one wallet for? I can really imagine any other reason other than having so much cash that you need two wallets to carry it all.

>>10 i have a larger one for various cards and things that i rarely use, and the smaller one with ID, bank card, and some money, i take with me in my pocket. if i lose one wallet, at least i haven't lost everything.
