General - an island of chill and magic in a sea of madness.
/General is the cool place to hang out. You can find most of the cool people there. In /general/ you can just chill and do whatever and totally relax. "Take it easy" is the /general/ motto, for example, that's how laid back it is there. Show up if you want to have a good time. Another good reason to show up is if you want to hang out with friends.

Are you talking about the recent change to RAL v2.0? If so, prettyboy explained that, with RAL v1.0, he intended to make something 'innovative': a "real-time BBS". However, he realized that IRC was also a real-time BBS, so he decided to change it.
I understand his urge to change the software, but I wish he had at least created a "real-time" board.
