I need some new hobbies. (18)

I no longer have any desire to play games or watch anime. Not that I did that much before, but now, I really have no desire to. Give me something new to do. Some hobbies I can do alone, as it so happens that I just fell out with my friends. Save for my girlfriend, it's just /me/ time. The plan was to start college but realizing how broke I was, I opted to work instead. I'm going to start college in the Winter and make some more friends, but in the meantime, what are some things I can do to keep myself occupied? I'm still job hunting so you know I have a lot of free time. I'm up for anything now. Throw me some ideas.

Runescape.

>>Runescape.

I'm kidding. Don't start Runescape.

Try writing, drawing, watching movies, film making, I don't know. There is a lot to do.

Collect random obscure shit.

OP here, and I took the advice to refine my taste in entertainment. Uh, I'm kind of embarrassed to say this, but after watching a few videos on Youtube, my love for Dragonball has been reawakened. The powering up, the different levels of power, the awesome characters, it's just great.

I've also played with Windows Movie Maker and I have made some cool videos. It's time consuming too.

I'm looking to further refine my taste in entertainment now. I have always been interested in checking out foreign movies that I could never get my hands on.

Being alone isn't so bad. Just as long as I can stay occupied. It's only for a handful of months. I just hope my social skills don't deteriorate or anything. And even still if I need people to talk to, that's what forums are for.

(If you're job hunting shouldn't you have little free time instead?) Considering you're in college, it'd be an excellent time to self-study/research stuff related to your major.

OP here, and job hunting for me involves filling out a shitload of applications and waiting for a call, but maybe I'm doing it wrong...

Making follow-up calls and improving/tailoring your resume always helps.

Learn to play Go or Chess or Shogi. You can play these on the internet.

OP, you remind me a lot myself. I'm sorry to say I never got a job, because everyone rejected me because I had no experience. When I got to college I got a low-paying job as an usher, at least. Concerts aren't very often, thus I don't get paid very often, but it's better than nothing.

Now that I'm in college, I'm really busy, but before I occupied myself with making music. Just find a passion that's productive, and you'll feel good about yourself when you make something. For example, I think it's great you're making movies. Keep it up!
