poll.... not!
I want to be able to read 2ch but I don't know japanese so I come here instead.
We have a Nordic Board. Obviously we're Weeaboo for Vikings too.
I like anonymous, that's why I'm here. I actually wish for less Japan sometimes.
I go to these boards because I, like many others here, like the idea of anonymity. I go HERE instead of 4chan because people are more mature, and there aren't idiot 12-year-olds spouting meme after meme after copypasta'd meme.
TwO caSEs aND ThREe POinTs....
I like the whole thing about being truly anonymous as well as the fact that I can waste more time than I should. =D
besides, 4-ch has skillz that pays the billz.
It does? How does it pay the billz?
I want in on those skillz.
I, actually, couldn't care any less about 2ch.
I just come here because you can have some decent discussions.
...Occasionally.
I come here because 4chan got boring after about a month, yet I still wanted an anonymous BBS to post on.
Because 711chan is a) blocked at my campus and b) even slower than this site.
4chan's decline (culminating at frontpage redesign), the sea of faggotry on /b/, the fact that the alternative chans were pretentious faggots (with the exception of 420chan, which is dead).
why 4-ch?
Because it's text based, ignored by most *channers, and has decent discussions.
at the moment?
because 4chan is down.
lucky for you I'm the only /b/tard that cares to visit this weaboo-infested place.
I've been coming here for a few years because I like the calm nature, and the friendly userbase.
Nobody wants you here faggot, go kill yourself.

LOL @ Irony.
Friendly userbase? You don't seem very friendly.
Me thinks that was intentional. And hilarious.
Friendly only goes so far these days.
the imageboards are too risky to surf while at work ಠ_ಠ
4-ch has preserved most of its virginal purity in a way. yeah and text leaves little room for image macros.
Because someday I hope anonymous text posting will take off outside of East Asia as well (´・ω・`)
The internet needs moar anonymous.
Because I want to get caught up in an epic thread similar to densha otoko :{
>>126
This will never happen, 4-ch just doesn't have epic threads.
I rented Densha Otoko for the first time this weekend. Monar should have had a bigger part.
Me too. I like conversing with many an anonymous other and the gift of information.
because mods suck and delete epic post
It's slow enough for me to enjoy.
Because the rest of the internet is filled with faggots and facebook kiddies, this is one of the few places that is not.
I also like the SJIS
because i've lost control of my life
Because my favourite textboard died ;_;
Because everything rest sucks. Or demands money AND sucks.
Nothing else on the internet is fun anymore.
I like to keep tabs on this forum in the event that it gets popular again, even though the pinnacle of its popularity has already passed.
I love it. Peace and quiet. None of the drama of the other chans.

Pretty sure there is a lot of drama sometimes in the irc.
Also drama of removing sexuality
Also drama of splitting boards
Also drama of lolicon
Also drama of deleted posts
It's neat.
Es lo que hay no mas
This is one of the oldest messageboards around. And the one with perhaps the most consistently active userbase.
>>140
Was 4-ch ever that popular? (let's intentionally dismiss dqn traitors and their momentary lolicore degeneracy for the sake of argument).
I guess 4-ch isn't that popular, really. But relative to other textboards, this one is probably one of the more active ones.
I like the concept of anonymity, discussion is more focused on content rather than ego. And textboards seems to be more serious/discussion focused compared to many popular imageboards. I've always wanted to read 2channels posts since I'm kind of fascinated by the east asian bbs culture. But since I can't read moonrunes, I'm here instead.
To dance!

There's http://5chx4changate.com/ which has some translations of 5ch posts
4-ch falls rare sweet spot of activity that very few sites do. It's busy enough that you can post something and are guaranteed a response in at most a week, but at the same time it's quiet enough that it's able to maintain a laid-back atmosphere where discussions rarely devolve into arguments

What I like about the asian web is that it's a lot nicer than the western one. Things are way less aggressive and people are way less confrontational about their opinions
