Is there anyone else out there who collects porn without fapping to it?
I don't know why, but I'll find myself downloading random doujins to read through, keeping the ones I like. I've got a pretty large collection now, for an image-only archive.
This, in itself, is not strange - who doesn't have a porn collection? However, I'm not "using" any of it. I started taking St. John's Wort (a mild antidepressant that kills libido) a few weeks ago, so I have no real reason left to want to jerk off to anything, and yet here I am, queuing up direct downloads. Is this just force of habit or something? Even if I'm not jerking off, there's something therapeutic about collecting things.
I do the opposite; I never bother to collect porn, although I fap to it fairly often.
I pretty much had like 80% of the shit that was scanned from C76 last year, it was all free and brand new shit that just got scanned almost literally hours after the event, so I just kept downloading, looking at some, fapping to some etc. Only like a month ago did I do some clean up and erased about 5 gigs worth of doujins.
I usually don't fap to the same thing twice, so I wonder why I do have about 50GB of porn that only gets looked at once a year.
I have tons of hentai manga/doujin and I don't consider it "fappable." Most of it's collected for its novelty or artistic value. There's lots of absolute junk that I don't bother with, but come on, frog on girl action? You can't not have that. This is all going to be very hard to explain if I die suddenly and my family find most of a hard drive full of stuff like that. I don't know why I do it...
As for porn that I "use", it's mostly free video sites and usually pretty bland and standard issue.
It's a kind of hoarding instinct, I think. I don't need it and rarely go through it. It's healthier and cheaper than collecting toys or something. At the very least, it takes up less space!
I use hit and run tactics. I don't see the need to save.
I don't ordinarily collect absolutely everything I see but one time I found this insane as fuck eromanga in an issue of Comic Megastore involving this hugeass ripped banchou-sort of chick and this puny ass normal dude and kept it because of the novelty yeah.
As for the rest of the shit I keep it's generally based on like my tastes at that moment so sometimes I'd feel pretty "Ayanami" or "Morishima" at the moment and basically just go on a downloading splurge.

You sound like a hoarder. The mentality is pretty much the same across the spectrum... "there might come a day this might be worth something", "this isn't trash", "I'll save this for another day", "I think I'll build something with this someday" etc.
Digital content means easy access but its also easier to excuse digital hoarding because it doesn't clutter as bad as physical. Digital content is also easier to maintain.
Digital stuff is pretty valueless when you think about it though. It's very easy to make a copy and originals mean nothing.
