Yes, it is possible to be like that without being a retarded jerk. I'm too picky about who I want to have a longterm relationship with. I'm not interested in having relationships that are obviously going to end within a few months because of incompatabilities.
Perhaps that's why girls feel at ease around me: They know it's a matter of us not matching, rather than that I see them as something flawed. It does get a bit sad when someone I'm not interested to be with in the long run gets too attached to me, though, or vice versa.
