In my opinion, since I'm also like that, what I can say, I also want others to hold a better opinion for asian nerds. But I doubt it unless the industry tries to change that image. In the current state, I'm sure people generally don't look up upon us because we have these unproductive interests. People still find these interests to be immature and childish. The thing we can hope for is, atleast from what I can tell, more and more younger people are introduced into them, I think in the future most people would be aware and into them which can diminish the negative attitude people have with them.
Honestly, asian nerds are not well portrayed, I'm also one too btw, however I know that others don't find us attractive unless you are handsome, that would reduce it. Therefore they aren't insecure, and because you are Asian yourself, they see you as inferior and weak in relating to them, so they can openly talk to you and your problems without fear of telling you about themselves, because they are confident that you aren't as good as him. Since they are white, they innately know that you won't be as good as him. So you see white people got it easy, they are born white and have not experience being suppressed and alienation since they are the majority.
And they have wider network, they occupy the goverment sturucture, trade industries, defense and military forces, corporate, businesses, many industries are staffed by them.
Asian don't have that many opportunities, and don't owned and affiliate with big companies, there are equal opportunities but its mainly white owned and occupied mostly by them, asian only get little piece out of it.
We can hope for more foreign Asian investments into White countries hopefully giving more opportunities to Asians.

Umm, I don't know about you, but I live in Australia, and here it's not really an issue of racial power and all the history that you just mentioned. Instead you will find that many asians here are well off, have opportunities and are born and raised here etc etc. When you approach a girl, you are not thinking about how proud you are of your home country (I hope), but rather, making an impression on the girl as an individual. Look, the only way to improve the image of Asians is to change the way society looks at them and to do that, you need to change the way the are represented day-to-day, ie how they are portrayed in the media, because face it, when it comes to representation of the 4 most common groups in media, Asians really get shafted.
Stereotypes need to be countered by a variety of images. Whites are widely represented as warriors, lovers, thinkers, idiots, criminals, etc, but as we look at other groups, we find this spectrum narrows greatly. Blacks by far have made the greatest strides in representation, (because of the civil rights movement) but they still have a long way to go, and so does every other group. Whites are not the only ones guilty of the portrayal of others, minorities also impose these views upon other minority groups, which greatly complicates the problem as you have the oppressed oppressing the oppressed.
These stereotypes and ideas of behaviors, personalities, lifestyles, etc. of blacks, hispanics, Asians, Indians, Native Americans, other indigenous peoples, Arabs, Persians, people of mixed ethnicity/race, etc., even whites are put upon by anyone that broadcasts their thoughts to a wide audience, whether they do it knowingly or unknowingly. People must realize what they are putting out there for consumption (and who is consuming it) but we take the power of media for granted and are therefore exploited by it. Some of this can be solved through education, while the stubborn ones need a good mental lashing.
It's time for this shit to change. Now who the hell will do it? Cause that's the only fucking way some dumbfuck is going to get the fucking message that what they were taught is a crock of bullshit! I think it's just simply their body type. There are average-sized Asians too, and some fat ones but not many.
It's both genetics and diet. They consume almost no protein or fat in their diet, almost all long-chain carbs (rice and rice starch) and vegetables. All their protein is from healthy sources like soy, egg and fish. And their fat sources are also healthy like the fragrant sesame oil and trans fat containing nuts.
If you're a girl let me tell you it's a healthy recipe to replace atkins diet, which in contrast is all unhealthy, hard-to-digest proteins like beef. (Something I would NEVER, ever recommend as a diet by itself).
