Girls: Is acceptable for guys to hit on you at work? (11)

Just as the thread title says. What are your thoughts on it? If you don't like it when work is busy, do you think it's alright when business is slow? Is it annoying?

I don't mind it. They may get annoyed if they're scared of getting in trouble. So I advise you not to hit on new people, just be nice and help them out.

DON'T STICK YOUR PEN IN THE COMPANY INK -wise words. You got to take into account that you'll be spending a lot of time with each other, and you won't have as much personal space as other couples. Also, if you guys were to end it while you were both still employed there, it would be VERY tense and awkward. Trust me, I have friends that had that problem.

I actually agree with what 3 said. Its never a good thing to eat and shit in the same place. Firstly, people will start talking and start scrutinising the whole thing if they find out about it. If its kept secret, it will probably eat the both of you inside out as you try to prevent people from finding out. If its just for sex you'll feel good in the beginning but then feel like crap once its over and you see her with someone else and you 'know' what they're up to. Either way, you lose.

However, if you really love this person and you thing it will work out in the long run... then go for it... Nothing ventured nothing gained..

Well, I was referring to chicks at different jobs than you. But good advice nonetheless!

I do not mind it, especially if it is a bad day. When customers are being more rude than usual, it is nice to have a guy notice you are attractive and will let you know it too. Most of my customers are very rude women, so a nice guy is always welcome.

people here seem not to know that more and more relationships nowadays do start at work. Why? because that's were people are mostly at.

Hitting on girls? depends what exactly you mean by that.
Frigid onanoko believe that in workplace, wanna to approach people very discretely. Because you don't want too many rumours. Because she don't want too many rumours. So you wanna do it outside workhours, during lunch, or break, or whatever.

If you concerned about career (not talking bout dead-end jobs) no room for doing obvious 'nonwork' during work.

Frigid onanoko spouting enough wisdom here, say goodbye now.

I actually agree with frigid onanoko for once. Just try to be discreet about it at work and try to keep it outside. Rumors are a pain in the ass.

But I have to say that hitting on someone, no matter what time, also depends on your appearance (No offense). The two things I find as the biggest turn off is bad teeth/breath and a hunched back.

It is absolutely unprofessional for a man to hit on a woman at work; if it is bothersome, a woman should take it up with her superior immediately because it is both inappropriate and creating a hostile environment for women to work in.

I am saying this as a victim of continuous harassment at the two jobs I've worked at, as well as a victim of sexual assault.

However, if it's harmless and something that isn't bothersome, it's best to tell the guy to call you AFTER work, or to keep work at work, and pleasure outside work. I've dated a coworker/shift manager before, but we kept it low-profile on the clock.

Depends on the job maybe? I can see where 9 is coming from, but if the working atmosphere is fairly light hearted then I approve. I don't think it's annoying at all, if it passes the time and boosts your self-confidence I'm all for it. (:
