Video Game girl (67)

1 Name: Secret Admirer : 2006-11-25 04:05 ID:hkglhRAc

I can't stop thinking about this damn girl. I hardly even talk to her, I mean, I don't go out of my way to do so because I don't want to turn her off of me being potential boyfriend material. She's 19, and out of highschool, while I'm 17 and a Junior. I met her on Myspace originally because she saw me on a mutual friends top 8 or whatever. She noticed that we had similar interests, like the books we read, and that I played World of Warcraft while at my brother's house. Anyway, I hang out with her probably on average of once every week and a half.
She plays a lot of video games, and I used to not, but now, I do all the time. She listens to excellent music and watches awesome movies, most of which I've either seen and enjoyed, or am eagerly looking forward to seeing. And it's not obsessive, it's kind of a casual crush. While I said I can't stop thinking about her, I mean when I'm not thinking about anything else in particular. If that makes sense.

I also recently found out from our mutual friend that she's knitting me and him a scarf, but she hadn't told me about it. So I'm thinking that she wants to be secretive about it, like it's a surprise. I've had these stupid little fantasies that she would pull the scarf out from behind her back, throw it around my neck and, like, pull me in for a kiss or something. I dunno. Just the thoughts I have.

I guess what I'm trying to ask is, do I have a chance? Should I just get it over with and ask her out? And what do we do, should I bring some zombie movies (we both love zombies) to her or my house to set the mood? Or maybe a walk downtown? I feel like I'm being an idiot about the whole thing, mainly because I don't want her to think I'm some immature high schooler with a crush. I really see something in this girl, she's so herself that it took me by surprise when I first met her. I don't know, I guess I just need some level headed ideas here. Thanks.

Well, I called her today after getting out of school while walking towards main street.
At first, we pretty much just talked about random things. She asked me how school was, I had said "you know, it's school", and I told her about the hockey game and so on. She had been in the parade on thanksgiving so I asked her how that went. It was pretty much small talk. Then she told me about the newspaper job she had gotten. I asked her what she was doing right then, and she was babysitting her brother of 6 and sister of... 2 or 3 I think. So then there was a couple seconds of silence and I just said, "Hey, I was wondering, do want to catch a movie with me or something some time?" Or something like that. and she said, "Yeah, definitely." and she continued to say that she was going to be busy theis week, but she would call and say when she could go out. She seemed really excited after I asked her out. I could hear it in her voice, and that she had said yes so easily. Then she had to get off the phone. It seemed almost like she had waited to hear that question before we stopped talking. I practically started dancing when I hung up.
...Actually, I did start dancing.

I think it's pretty fair to say... you both wanted this to happen. Just let the date go smoothly, and you can expect to become a little more intimate with her. Good luck vgb.

Sounds really promising, just remember that this does not mean everything is going your way. There still is a long way to go. But for this "date". Good luck! I believe you can do it!

Well, I didn't really want to disapoint you guys with this update so I just put it off, but you guys apparently want to know.
So when I called her, which was I guess two weeks ago today, she had told me that she wouldn't be able to do anything that weekend. She said that her parents were out of town and they were going to leaves someone there to watch them or whatever. Which I believed because her parents are extremely strict and she also has two high-school aged brothers, and two very young siblings. So I said okay. The next day at school, I was very happy. I was so happy that other people even noticed, when they usually don't even notice anything about me. A kid in my math class asked me why I was having such a good day, so I said, "Well, I asked out a very pretty girl yesterday, and she said yes." so everybody was happy for me, and all the girls were like, "Aww that's so cute." and everything was good. Then, during class, a friend of mine said, "Hey, VGB, you asked out VGG, didn't you?" and I said, yes, that's who it was. So by this point a whole classroom full of people know who it was that I asked out, which normally would be okay, but you'll see the problem soon. So on Friday, I was waiting by a liquor store for my friends to pick me up and play some Halo or whatever, (the store is just down the street from where I live and they had called me while I was going for a walk) and this guy drives up. I know him, but I don't talk to him all the time, he goes to the Junior College in town, and he's friends with VGG and all the other older kids I hang out with. He gets out of the car and calls over, "Hey, aren't you going out with VGG?" and I said to myself, shit, how does this guy already know, so I responded, "Well, I asked her out, but we haven't gone out yet." and he said, "but isn't she your girlfriend?" I said, "no, not really, we haven't gone out yet. Who told you she was my gf?" and he said, "Everyone, they all said that you were saying that you guys were going out." Then he went inside and my friends picked me up shortly after.

I ended up spending the night with my friends and that night it snowed very hard. The next morning we went snowskating (me and my friends skateboard sometimes)and at around 3 I went home. I called VGG at around 4 and the guy from the liquor store answered her cell, I said, "can I talk to VGG?" and he yelled, so that I could hear what he said, "Oh girlfriend of mine, there is some boy trying to call you!" I knew this was just a lame joke attempt, but it still pissed me off, and basically told me that VGG thought that I was telling everyone that we were bf/gf, when VGG got to the phone, she said, "Hello... Bzzt..." and the phone was cut off, which happens very often with her phone. So I called her right back and she cancelled my call, I know because it rang only once before the voice mail picked up. I called again an hour later and her phone was turned off.
Sunday, I just wanted to spend time at home by myself. But at around 3 I went to hang out at the skate shop and Mutual called me, "Hey dude, did VGG call you yet?" and I thought, oh no, he knows that VGG is trying to avoid me. "No." Mutual: "What a bitch, (he was jokingly saying that of course) well, she's down at the park sledding with a bunch of people and she called me and asked me if I wanted to go." Ultimately he had said that he was not going to go, but VGG had never called me. So she went from not being able to leave the house, to calling everybody but me to hang out.
Fast-forward two weeks. She was never online when I was, and never called me. She never even sent me a message on Myspace until yesterday. I pretty much stopped caring about the date that she had agreed to go on, and then she was chatting with me online a few minutes ago, just small talk though. And then she signed off. I don't even care anymore. I just wish she would have said no in the first place so that I wouldn't have had to go through all of this bs.

Aw shit, tough break, man.

There's this old Estonian saying which goes like "Don't shout before the night."(Ära hõiska enne õhtut).

But, yeah, it was a total bummer. Not just for you, but to me too, who hoped that things would actually work out.

(Also I noticed that 4-ch.net hasn't had any.. successful love stories recently.. Don't really want to jinx it, but.. yeah D: )

Hmm, it might be the time at which I'm wrighting this (4 am). But the feeling I got when reading your explaination was the fear and discomfort VGG felt when she got to "know" that you bragged about her behind her back. I am sure it wasn't ment as bragging, and it might not even never had occured. But however, that is what had reached her ears. Her not coming online or trying to keep you away from her might very well be her sign that she want to negatate the rumor. Maybe because thats not how she wants it to start? I know I am overly optimistic, but it might very well be the case.

I would try, in one message try to explain myself. How I wanted it to sound, that it was because of how happy you where she said yes, and that you reallu would like a closer relationship to her. I would also try not to push her in any direction, mainly by mentioning that that is not the only way this might end.

But then again I am a love fool.

you are being optimistic. it is best if he ends it and thus ending this thread.

Well, I hung out with her and some other friends tonight. And it was nice just being friends with her again. So I'm not going to fuck that up now. I'll go with the ending it idea.

44 Name: Video Game Boy : 2006-12-18 04:55 ID:14ufGEFS

Okay, so, some new information may lead me to fuck that up now. I was told that the reason she was avoiding me was because she was being made fun of by all our friends, and that she actually really likes me. Well, I plan on just asking her out again, and telling her that I don't care about all the resulting drama of us dating, and that if the others can't handle it, then they should deal with it themselves.

I just read the thread completely and I can totally relate to your girl of interest.
You probably already know this by now, but whatever happens between you, don't brag about it to everyone because it'll scare her off. This is mainly because of your age difference.
Recently I'd been in a situation similar to you; he was 16, I was 18. Although I really liked him, enjoyed hanging out and playing games with him etc, I was still bothered by the fact that he was younger and a lot more immature than me. Hence I never talked to my friends about him (save for a close friend). It was obvious we liked each other, but I was too scared to make a move (thinking it couldn’t work out) and he was too shy to confess. In the end I was too tired to keep beating around the bush and just lost interest. I guess I also wanted the safe way out, because I was always conscious of our age difference. But I definitely would have reconsidered if he let me know he wanted to start a serious relationship with me.
