Girls definitely care about money. Of course it depends on how it manifests in their priorities. If they find themselves to be financially independent already, maybe they wouldn't care too much about the guy making a lot of money. However, they would lean towards the guy making at least as much money as she does.

But in the case of girl who doesn't already have any sort of reliable source of income, it's probably different. From my personal experience, she would probably be more attracted to guys who already have a fair amount of money or in a position to earn a lot in the near future. (If you were wondering, I'm the poor loser.)
