OP here. No no, you're kinda right, I may be blowing things out of proportion, it's just that the breakup thing wasn't really flattering to me and I kinda assumed that it would stay in the dark. And no, it was something really couldn't just be hinted at, you'd have the full thing to understand even a bit.
