Letting Go... (7)

Hi all, let me start by saying I'm not here for sympathy, to make a fool of myself, or just to play around. I need a little help getting over my Ex girlfriend. It's a lot harder than it seems to be.

We still talk from time to time but I can't help the feeling that I still have feelings for her. Any other girl it would'nt be so hard but it's just somthing about her that still has me attracted.

All I need is some ideas as to how to get over her. I have already tried dating other girls but thats not helping. I dont want to get back with my Ex at all I just want to forget about her and move on.

Good diversion...

If you're interested or like nature then you should go travel or something.

If you like food, eat.

Or do something productive like exercising to make yourself more healthy or do business to make more money.

Same idea but less sarcastic, involve yourself in something constructive. Business, artsy stuff, in fact anything that could need hours and hours of involvement that you'd never do otherwise. Keeps your mind busy, plus when it's all done you'll have accomplished something, got some more self-confidence. And time will have passed, so it'll be a little easier. If it's not, do something else.

Number one, you need to stop talking to her. You can't get over someone if you keep in contact with them, even just a little is counterproductive. Number two, like the person said above, get involved in something. Once you do, you will find yourself thinking less and less about her, then eventually, you won't think about her at all. I've been through this. It hurts a lot at first, to the point where you feel you can't do it, but you have to go through with it. Believe me, you will feel a lot better when you do. I've learned that it pays to have an independent life of your own before you get involved with a girl. Otherwise, you will become dependent of her and if and when she leaves you, you will be broken down in the worse way. Like I said earlier, explore yourself. Find some new hobbies, things that you like to do. Hang out with your friends more, try new things. It may seem impossible now, but believe me, stick through it and you can get over this no problem.
