What is love to you? (14)

I have seen some interesting things here on these threads and was wondering.
I see lots of threads about sex, virginty, etc. here.
I also see feelings and such.

So here are my questions.
What does love mean to you?
Do you see sex as love? Or is it something else?
Do you see women/men as a toy (or a sex toy)?
Do you like relationships that are convenient to you?
Would like to help or get helped on relationship problems?

uhoh.... do you know the 'theory of love' thread? go find it, it has most of the answers

This is not theory. This is personal opinions for my questions thanks.

love to me is...
hard one to answer. there's the warm and soft precious feeling one has for one's family member, beloved pets, things like that. and then there's romantic love, which is very hard to describe, a very special feeling :) And i also beleive in 'true love', which i imagine is what i'd feel if i were to meet my soul mate, like, and extremely more powerful version of regular romantic love.

Sex itself i see as a very special and pleasurable act. It can be an expression of love though... in such a case between two people who love eachother, i think the term 'making love' is much more appropriate than 'sex'.

I [ a woman] don't see men as a sex toy. ick! i don't like the thought of people thinking of other people as sex toys...

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by convenient... but 'convenience' is about the last thing i consider when thinking about a relationship with somebody.

I'm not in a relationship right now, so i don't need any help with one. I like the idea of helping others with relationship problems, but i'm not confident im the best person for the job, given the horrible horrible mess that became of my only serious relationship...

>>3 then did you think the 'theory of love' thread ever got beyond personal opinions? hahaha! it had hundreds of replies to it before it died

It only a year old, it should have a lot of answers to your questions. Now work yourself, kid!

apparently no body really knows what "love" really means but to me, when i was in love with someone it began with trust, you have this warm feeling when your around with that person and you cant stop smiling when you see them. someone that gives you strength, is allways there for each other and makes you happy, someone you really care about. i could be in the wrong section but to me thats what love is.

its hard for people to describe it as most people nower days aint that serious, they're either just playing around cos the girl/boy is hot or something. thats prob where the term "sex toy" came out from =/

Sadly, that last part seems to be the case most times.

I consider love alot like trust. Being able to put your life in someone's hands without having to worry about it. Telling them almost every little secret, and not wanting to hurt that special someone.

>What does love mean to you?

It depends on what flavour of love we're talking about. The love for a friend or family member isn't the same as the romantic one. I'm a fan of the life-partner kind of love, though.

>Do you see sex as love? Or is it something else?

Sex can be love and one of the ultimate expression of love, but sex can also be just the act of sex, and everything in between. Playful sex with a long-term partner you still "madly" love and desire is one of the most awesome kinds.

>Do you see women/men as a toy (or a sex toy)?

No. People are not toys. They can however be participants in a game of sex. It's a game taken too lightly by too many, though. If you don't trust a person (and realistically can't), don't fucking sleep with them! Why is that so hard to comprehend for so many people!?

>Do you like relationships that are convenient to you?

Who doesn't? Most of my relationships haven't been convenient, however. Doubt they'll ever be. But that's okay, because it's been worth it.

>Would like to help or get helped on relationship problems?

I do help when I can.

  1. Love to me is:

-Oxytocin
-Dopamine

2. You can have sex with or without love but love certainly gives a different taste to it.

3. There are women who are sex toys because that's what they want to be. It is absurd to generalise.

4. I try to stay away from relationships so I cannot answer this question, an on-line relationship would be the most suitable for me.

5. Regarding help, hmmm... A couple is just that and nothing more than that: a couple (2 people). I don't see the point in messing with other people's affairs.

gotta take a little time
A little time to think things over
I better read between the lines
In case I need it when Im older

Now this mountain I must climb
Feels like a world upon my shoulders
I through the clouds I see love shine
It keeps me warm as life grows colder

In my life theres been heartache and pain
I dont know if I can face it again
Cant stop now, Ive traveled so far
To change this lonely life

I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me

Im gonna take a little time
A little time to look around me
Ive got nowhere left to hide
It looks like love has finally found me

In my life theres been heartache and pain
I dont know if I can face it again
I cant stop now, Ive traveled so far
To change this lonely life

I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me

I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
And I wanna feel, I want to feel what love is
And I know, I know you can show me

Lets talk about love
I wanna know what love is, the love that you feel inside
I want you to show me, and Im feeling so much love
I wanna feel what love is, no, you just cannot hide
I know you can show me, yeah

I wanna know what love is, lets talk about love
I want you to show me, I wanna feel it too
I wanna feel what love is, I want to feel it too
And I know and I know, I know you can show me
Show me love is real, yeah
I wanna know what love is...

to me love is like food. the more you take in, the more satisfied you are. but too much and you end up getting sick of it. but in a way, you can't live without it.
