Don't bother with the other girl. She's just an infatuation, and it will pass. You say you love your girlfriend, so stay faithful and be strong. I'd also break off contact with the other girl for a while [or forever] so you can start to forget about her.
Help your current G/F with her studies, like do flash cards, quiz her, things like that. It'll be a LOT easier for her to remember things if the one she loves shows that he cares about her education that much. Plus spending more time together will hopefully bring you closer to each other emotionally. Good luck! =]
