Don't complicate your life unnecessarily. Most people would not do that just for advancement. Going out with the son of your teacher is often more a source of trouble than benefit.

If she's interested in you because of your father, consider that as your opportunity to really have a relationship with her, since you are also interested in her. With time it will become obvious wether she really is interested in you.

Also, watch out your paranoia. Too much mistrust can poison one's life, since you will always find bad reasons to explain other people actions,... That would make you unable to be happy.
