First Christmas (14)

We in America are coming up on Christmas shortly. This is the first time that I have spent Christmas with a significant other. I'm not sure what to do for her, we have decided that we wouldn't spend more than $100 since we are both college students. We are very humorous and I wish that I could get her something funny and then something sweet. If any of you guys have ideas PLEASE POST!!

When I had a long term partner we would each buy too much stuff for the other for Xmas and two problems would thus emerge. (1) we would both run out of money, and (2) we would both end up with lots of stuff we didn't want, which either got thrown away, or kept forever due to guilt.

We eventually had to come to an agreement, limiting it to a single gift from a list of things we know the other would actually use, or actually wanted, and if money was in excess, going out for a huge dinner (big gift without the risk of things being stored forever.)

Just saying, don't go completely overboard as you might both regret it later. Maybe once is okay though. In my case, the girl had never had a proper Xmas anyway, so I felt somewhat that I had to make up for that a little.

you could give 100 dollars in € instead with the following poem.

Debits are red and assets are black
Baby, I love you, let me handle your rack
But before my groin turns alarmingly crescent
Allow me to give you a(another) rocksolid present.
Dearest, even if subprime mortgages tumble
My love for you can never crumble
The US dollar is a thing of the past
But the good old Euro will forever last
It comes from a place without a head
Now, girl, maybe you could give me some of that.

Nothing make present as personal as touchyfeely poetry! It ok to be biased and great to have message. girls love messages, it make them feel special. But not too mundane. Take lessons from FO's example!

Yes, FO is stupid, that's why she talks to herself in the 3rd person.
