Making Friends (5)

Ever since my friends started acting like douchebags to me, I've stopped hanging out with them. It's my first year of university, and I feel almost like I've lost a part of me. Has anyone else ever had to start over like this? How do you make new friends? Personally, I don't really like rapid change, so it's difficult to get to know too many people at once.

I just get known to them by coincidence, I guess.

It's really hard to start over like that. It's not going to be easy. I once had to do that and ended up with no friends for three years, ending only in a chance coincidence involving the internet.

On that note, the internet really is going to be your best bet, unless you happen to be a drinking and pool playing type, in which case you should try to meet people in bars.

Perhaps you're lucky enough to have a club that interests you in your university? Look into it!

Develop activities that you like, and find like minded people,... This usually works very well, and the university is a perfect setting for that.

Also, since you are studying, get to know the people you study with, you are likely to discover one or two interesting persons to start talking to.
