What do you mean by "on break?" are you physically separated by distance or did you decide to stop dating each other for a while?

I think the best way to find out if she still has any interest in you is to disappear for a while. Don't return her calls. Ignore her on AIM. Your friends and family don't know what you've been up to. This could go for WEEKS so don't cave in.

If she starts getting upset and begging for you to come out of your shell, she's still interested. But don't just open up and bring her back into to your life again. From now on you have to keep her at a slight distance and gradually let her back in.

If she doesn't care that you haven't responded to anything in a week, well, that says something about how much she likes you, doesn't it?

You're right not to approach her, because you WILL seem needy. If you push, she pulls away. So how about YOU do the pulling away and see how she takes it.
