Advice = Chill out. You asked to talk. Tell her you just wanted to know some more about her because she seemed interesting. Come prepared with questions that aren't routine and aren't too personal, such as what movies she's seen lately, what movies she's into, if she plays any games, what hobbies she has, if she's going to X event that's supposed to be popular, etc.
Once you've gottena few "WTF why am I asking this" questions out of the way, feel free toa sk about her future plans for college, what she thinks fo certain teachers, etc.

Nothing happened is what. She didn't reply and my cursory searching for her in the building didn't turn her up. What the hell, I am pissed. You think I should go back to the building and look around?
