Y'all, I have a big decision to make... it's one that could very well get messy, because I may very well break someone's heart if I don't do this the right way...
So, I have 2 girls who have expressed interest in me, and they both have their ups and downs and their own particularities...
1) Girl who I've known for a few years, but lost contact for about 2 years, only ran back into her 3 months ago. Have grown closer to her. Have similar tastes in music and culture, similar political beliefs, but she's not as active as I am. VERY VERY cute, a bit sheltered though... She lives 2 hours away, but my family and friends honestly like her better.
2) Girl who I've also known for about 4 years, but have been in steady contact with (I met her at an anti-war protest). Not quite as much in common in terms of music/culture/arts (I'm mainly in the EBM/Industrial/Gothic subcultures, she's a Punk), but she's more academic than the other girl (like myself). Not quite on the same politics as me, but she's as politically active as me. Frankly more intelligent, and likes me more. Hotter than #1, but is a little "wild" and at times a bit uncontrollable. Also lives 3+ hours away, but is transferring to my university this fall, and she admits that she's partially doing so because she "knows someone there" (after which she snuggled up against me).
So what is a man to do? I gotta make a choice, both are REALLY great people... I don't want to break anyone's heart.
Go for #2, keep #1 close, just because.
If you are serious about this. I'd so go with your instincts. Follow your heart? Follow what you feel? One or the other, the other one will be broken hearted. Unless you make them both understand about it.
My heart says #2, my logic says #1... and my friends think #1 and I would make a better pair. However, #2 will be more brokenhearted than #1 if I were to turn her down. >>2's advice sounds good, but anyone else have some ideas?

Girl 1, girl 2? Does it matter? I think be with the one you want to be with the most or see what happens then you will probably realize.
I must say that's quite a dilemma. You have to ask yourself all the questions including: Do you like challenges? Are you more drawn to someone who isn't boring like everyone else?.. When it comes down to it--who makes YOU happy, making HER happy?

I can't wait for this shit anymore, y'all. #2 is the one I really want to be with, and if I were to turn her down it would crush her far more than #1.

#1 sounds like someone you could mould into your cookie cutter. She sounds young, slightly naive and impressionable.
#2 will keep things interesting, but be ready for a rollercoaster ride.

#2 sounds definitely the more interesting out of the two. Depends on your personality, but it's good to have a bit of excitement in your relationship. #1 sounds like the relationship might fizzle out due to boredom. Differences in political view and music isn't bad either, at least it allows for interesting discussion between your points of view.
#2 seems to care for you slightly more as well, moving to your local Uni because of you is a pretty big decision. Don't leave your decision too late though, else you'll scare both of them off.
