Someone please help me sort this out.

There was this guy. We go to a language class together.
We never really saw of spoke to each other till one fine day, we did.
He was a good and helpful friend; and I started to feel this emotional inclination towards him.
I never made it obvious.
But lately he's changed, Though he occasionally clarifies my doubts now and then, he is mean. He has scolded me for petty things. He doesn't answer his phone when I call like he used to...

He isn't the same as he was before.

Despite the times he was mean; I still have a fondness for him;
What the hell is this all about?
He's mean, so why can't I ignore him?
why do I still not dislike him?
